Served at the brewery in a tulip glass. Amber to brown color. Cloudy. Moderate head that settles quickly to minute layer of bubbles. Leaves some chunky ring lace on the glass.
Smells a bit sweet with very little hop aroma. It's almost as if someone added a couple of drops Port.
The flavor is far more impactful. First, the swallow features some strong hop bitterness. Second, I can feel alcohol warmth. The aftertaste is well balanced with some toasty malts blending with the hop. The hop lingers longer. The temperature is only slightly cooler than the room. Thick body with low carbonation as one would expect from a cask poured beer.
