I had this on tap at Wahlburgers in St Charles, IL. I wasn't sure what to expect out of a "house" beer, but was pleasantly surprised. It was comparable to other decent APAs that I've had. In some ways, it almost reminded me of a Franziskaner Hefeweizen - similar in mouth feel with slight citrusy undertones. Decent option with my burger as the other draft choices are fairly pedestrian.

First impression was that it tasted awful and had a slick unappealing mouthfeel. It looked good, the spectrum of colors between brown and yellow-orange all represented with a long lasting cap of sticky head. Not much scent, though I am in a busy area with burgers also being drank around me. The taste and feel are still awful, the word that comes to mind is "fungus"... Damp, wet, and old. These tap lines must be ancient, or else this beer just flat out sucks. It's very malty and sweet, with hops kissing the edges, but everything has the taste of rot surrounding it's expression of flavor

Harpoon Brewery “Wahlbrewski”
$9.45/20 oz. on tap @ Wahlburgers Boston Logan Airport
Look: Lightly hazy amber beneath a short head of white foam. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Mainly malty with some background citrus.
Taste: The flavor follows the aroma with some additional citrus and pine and medium caramel. A firm bitterness balances it leading to a dry finish with some lingering citrus, earthiness, and pine.
Feel: Medium bodied with a fine-bubbled, gently crisp carbonation.
Overall: A basic, more than serviceable pale ale with a good level of drinkability and enough character to keep it interesting for more than one.

On draft at Wahlburgers Columbia, MO. Poured out a clear, amber color with a good-sized, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of caramel, roasted malt, citrus and some pine. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with some toastiness. Nice citrusy bite.

Drinking this at Wahlburgers in St Charles. Excellent accompaniment to the kick ass burger I had. Slightly hoppy, slightly bitter, slightly citrusy. Lighter bodied, boozier than I expected, but an easy sipper. I like it.

Reminiscent of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. The frosty glass I was served in took away much of the experience, but it’s a good all day drinker.

Pours a pale gold, very small white head with thin, even lace.
Aromas are light, slightly fruity, hints of pale malts.
Slightly bitter hops, hints of citrus peel, and a pale malt backbone.
Good light body, refreshing, crushable.
Not a bad beer. Very light, nothing crazy. A drinkable beer with a light profile but still has a few good things going for it.

I'm trying this at the Wahlburgers in the Toronto airport. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had faint hint of bitter citrus. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good malt presence and slight bitter finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Tap
Pours mostly clear golden, white film for a head retains indefinitely.
Smells of citrus, bready malts and grassy hops.
Flavor is of biscuit, citrus, and grassy notes.
Light to medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.
Decent, somewhat forgettable. Flavor is fine. Nothing really to complain about. Good food pairing. Probably wouldn't seek it out again.

Pretty plain pale ale, middle of the road, nothing special. Gets the job done, but not going to quench your thirst for a really good beer or anything. Plus at $7 a pop, it makes it (in my mind) quite pricey for what you get.
