OK, I've been an IIPA devotee for years. I've been in search of the perfect balance of malt and hop; the perfect range of hop complexity; the aroma that is the equivalent of the ultimate taste. Well, this is it. I never thought I'd go for an IIPA billed as a "white" IPA, but this isn't pale and passive - it's a rich amber hop bomb with perfect malt balance. I'm a purist - I've always said that I won't go for an ale with fruit. Ghost King claims an infusion of coriander and orange peel, but the alien ingredients aren't an intrusion - they're just part of the incredible symphony. This is the one I've been looking for. My daughter who likes IPAs but not Imperial IPAs loves it. My wife who'll have nothing to do with IPAs loves it. My daily go-to is Dogfish Head 90 Minute; my previous fave was Great Divide Hercules, but now I have to move Ghost King to the top of my list. And I bought it in 22 oz. bombers for $5.99 - the price point makes this the best value I know in craft IPAs. Please God - don't let this be a one-off experiment!

22oz bottle poured into a tulip; reviewed with the disclaimer I previously missed its 'enjoy by 8/15/15' stamp
A: Medium orange color with a 1.5 finger head
S: Lots of citrus and floral notes, along with the coriander the label mentions
T: Citrus, tropical fruit and floral/herbal notes
M: The palate doesn't come across as sweet of boozy but it shows here. Fairly full-bodied and a bit of alcohol comes through
O: Overall a nice ale and I'm sure it would have been even better fresher

Nice DIPA that is malt forward. Had at the brewery. It was served a bit too cold and as it warmed the malt opened up to a very nice beer.

Pours into a large tulip glass a clear brass color with a large fluffy white head atop.Boozey aromas, rocket fuel and leafy hops are what I get. Some overripe tropical fruits and booze on the palate, slight drying with grassy hops in the finish, pretty sweet though.Inlike any wheat IPA I have had.

Thought this was a bit too boozy and sweet, their strain of yeast just turns me off from all Harpoon's IPAs for whatever reason.
