Copper color ; big off-white head. Aroma of wild flower honey and hoppy citrus notes. Sweet , honey taste with light hoppy bitterness. Interesting brew.

On-tap 4/10/2015 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep reddish amber color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains honey, caramelized malts, fruit and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of honey, brown sugar and fruit. Then a hearty malt character comes in along with a small alcohol bite. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while.

22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Appearance: Clear copper colored body with a short head. Retention is brief, excepting a thing partial top coat, but spotty, sticky lacing is left on the glass.
Aroma: mostly citrus and honey with faint floral notes, and a bit of alcohol.
Flavor: The honey comes through more clearly than, perhaps, any beer (but not mead) I've ever had. Sweetness, however, is under control and at a light to moderate level. Hop, light bread and citrus flavors lie underneath the honey.
Palate: The body is medium; higher ABV is evident; carbonation is light.
Overall: a moderately sweet, easy drinking, unspiced braggot. Good for style.

Poured into a snifter.
3.0 A: Lightly hazed copper color. One finger of creamy grayish white head. Retention is below average and just a few wisps of lacing are left.
3.0 S: Oops, someone forgot to add the honey to the braggot. But to be fair, there is honey in the nose, it's just not nearly at the level I want for the style. It's not much of an IPA either. In any case, let's begin. Floral and lightly earthy hops. Mild honey. Lots of neutral maltiness with just a touch of caramel. Pretty underwhelming overall.
3.0 T: The taste is pretty uninspiring as well. There's a bit more honey than the nose, but the hops are fairly lacking. Mild bitterness with slight floral and earthy notes. Again mainly neutral malts with a touch of caramel.
3.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Slightly bity but smooth.
3.0 D: Eh, nothing special.

From the 22 oz bottle, it poured amber with a small head that quickly dissipated. Definite hop in the nose. Nice taste, hops included, that lingers a bit. Medium body. Decent, drinkable.

22 ounce bottle poured into a snifter glass
A- pours a clear golden amber color with a small creamy off-white head that reduces to a thin film floating on top
S- lots of floral hop aroma up front with some tangerine notes. Sweet honey notes close it out
T- floral and citrus hop up front with notes of tangerine & grapefruit. The honey kicks in near the finish, provide a sweet finish with some fruity hop linger
M- medium body with medium so ritzy carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and crisp sweet finish
O- my first of the style, I did like how the honey adds the sweetness on the finish

OK, first off this may technically be an IPA but its really just a fantastic beer. The honey that is in this beer does negate many of the IPA properties and the taste of the beer is like a honey pale ale, which is amazing and the alcohol content is simply a plus as you do not taste the alcohol like you do in many high gravity offerings.

Just too sweet to even be considered a DIPA. It's not bad, but I would not get this again.
