Poured at the Harpoon brewery in Boston.
Black color where no light passes. Modest tan head, nearly no lace (small tiny spots, less than ten).
Deep, dark roasted malts. Little sweetness but plenty of burnt malt nose. There's a touch of cardboard to detract from the aroma.
Starts mild but soon the burnt toast notes come through. There's a touch of cocoa. Relatively short and dry aftertaste. The body matches a dry stout--thinner than an imperial stout. Normal carbonation.

Quite possibly the greatest beer ever! Amazingly boozy yet smooth. A delicious stout with a kick. They should make more of it and bottle it!

Got it on tap today. Beer board said 13.5 ABV. I asked the barkeep where they got the barrels from and he said he thought Wild Turkey. When the server brought it over to me it had no head at all. As I drank it it also had no lace as it went down but when I gave it a swirl it had some nice thick legs to it. Pitch black on the color. Smell was very impressive. Vanilla, coconut, chocolate, dark malts. Taste was fantastic. Followed the nose but also found some dark fruits in there and some molasses notes. Feel was pleasant. full and not a lot of alcohol burn as it went down. Overall I was very impressed and sad I wasn't able to take any home in a growler. Hope they make it more often!!!
