An Amber kölsch? Interesting idea, let's see...
Light head but it leaves some strings for lace. Amber in color and clear.
Very mild aroma. I'd like to get some more malt here.
The taste exceeds my expectations. I definitely get the traditional kölsch flavors but with a bit more toastiness to the malt profile. I have always been a fan of this style for its soft, creamy malt flavors. It's here with an additional complexity with the darker malt. Neutral body and carbonation. I like that there is a light hop presence in the aftertaste.
I love originality on a classic style when it perks up your curiosity. This is an excellent example of that sort of beer.
