Used 300 gallons of water extracted directly from the Charles River to produce 18 kegs of beer. Available for a limited time at Harpoon's beer hall for sampling. The beer is part of a first-time partnership between Desalitech, a Newton-based water desalination company, and the beermakers.

The beer is a darker amber and clear. Small start to the head which settles to rim bubbles. Excellent near blanket for lace.

I get the smell of fresh tilled earth. Deeper malt (Chrystal?) aroma. Little hop.

Good caramel start with a tinge of sweetness. An earthy hop flavor kicks in with the swallow. Balanced aftertaste. Decent body with a high carbonation that really shows up in the swallow.
