Pours a slightly hazy, dark golden orange color with tangerine edges and a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Very good retention, taking a while to settle with streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Earthy hop aroma with fresh cut grass and pine resins countered by tropical/citrus fruit sweetness and subtle summit/onion-like character. Hints of hay, grass, pine needle and spruce tip followed by grapefruit. pineapple and orange pith. Pale biscuit malt presnce with a touch of caramel and bread. Could use some more fruit sweetness and stronger overall hop presence in the nose.
Medium body with a stronger earthy hop presence than the aroma suggests. Floral and perfume like with lingering dry, earthy bitterness. Sticky pine needle and grassy hops dominate the flavor. Just a touch of fruit sweetness balancing things out which is disappointing. Would prefer a lot more citrus/tropical fruit. Pale malt is a little more prominent with caramel, toffee, bread and biscuit. Alcohol sweetness lingering in the finish. Not hot necessarily but has plenty of alcohol flavor. Not very well balanced and the hop profile is disappointing. Mediocre.
