Served at the Harpoon Brewery. Described to me as an Imperial Black IPA.
Near black color where light passes on the edge. Good webby lace from the lasting but thin head.
Smells of dark toast but not burnt. Attractive without overwhelming.
The taste is strong. First, we start off with the nearly burnt malts. I then get some hop bitterness but it isn't extreme at all. Then I feel the alcohol warmth. A big beer with lots of flavor.
