This is not a beer to drink in between your session. A great dessert beer, this is one I would recommend to anybody who likes stouts especially if they are visiting Harpoon. Next time I'm there, I will update with a more precise review.

Great combination of roast and sweet; hides abv really well. Wish it came in bottles.

At 18.1% abv, this is way beyond an Imperial Stout. As the bartender says, "this will put chest hair onto your chest hair."
Near black color but light passes on the edge. Rich, thick beige head but it doesn't leave the lace on the glass like one might expect.
Strong black coffee nose as if the entire batch were made exclusively with black patent malt.
Starts off like a typical stout but soon becomes oily from the alcohol and starts to show qualities of a sherry or port with darker cherry flavors and warming alcohol. Lots of warming alcohol. Did I mention the alcohol. Yeah, it's that evident.
