From the 650 ml. bottle with an expiration date of 10/15/16. Sampled on October 9, 2016. Near its expiration and that had an impact.
The pour is a light to medium amber color but no red hues that I might have thought I'd see in a Double Red. Still heady.
The the aroma is malt forward for certain with a kind of tobacco presence but I think that is die more to the fact that it is close to its expiration date. Maybe several months ago I might have gotten a better hop presence.
Medium to full body. Smooth.
The flavor is mainly a malt bomb with perhaps a feint tropical fruit character if I really think about it. I bet this was better last summer. But the proceeds benefit cancer research so I am pleased to help in that regard.

Pours a clear Amber color with a persistent white frothy head. Nice lacing! Smell of light pine and red grapefruit with a rich roasted malt nose and all is very fresh! Taste dances back and forth between lightly sweet and smooth bready characteristics and citric and piney American hops. Light caramel notes and a faint spicy hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium body and lighter carbonation. Excellent balance to this beer and a wonderful freshness that does not always come through in this style. If you are contemplating trying this beer go for it! Not a stunner but quite delicious.
