Impressive frothy head -- thick and unyielding bubbles. The head lasts throughout the tasting, leaving a blanket of lace after every sip. Ruby color and appears to be complete clear of any haze.

The smell is dark with semisweet chocolate and a touch of cocoa.

Very smooth -- rich body and flavor of milk chocolate (coming close to semisweet chocolate). Lots of cocoa to the swallow and aftertaste. Nearly a dessert beer. A touch of alcohol on the tongue. The aftertaste also features a solid bittering presence.

This beer is only available at the Boston brewery. Since it's a limited "test" batch, I recommend getting to Harpoon to try this. Hopefully, they'll make this one of the 100 barrel series.
