Dark brown color but light passes through the center of the glass. Slightly hazy. Small but lasting head. Blanket and streaky lace.
Warm and hot spices combined -- I detect cinnamon and nutmeg along with hot pepper (but no smoke). Light chocolate in the background.
Smooth darker malt flavor with a spicy (not too hot) counterbalance. Full bodied and low carbonation as one would expect from a Cask pour. Slightly sweet for a Porter. I think this combination is a definite step up from the traditional Harpoon Winter Warmer.
