Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a very dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of vanilla up front, light peanut butter and chocolate in the background. Taste is of alcohol, some vanilla, more alcohol, a faint hint of cocoa. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but I was expecting more.

This one pours a fairly dark brown, with a big fluffy head, and lots of lacing.
This one smells like roasted malt, peanut butter, nuttiness, vanilla, dry dark chocolate, stale malt, and a touch of almond.
Harpoon isnt' exactly known for pastryboiz, so this is nice to see. It's pretty solid, with a nice moderate amount of peanut butter, with a touch of dry dark chocolate, and lots of roast, that turns slightly stale/astringent on the back end. This is solid stuff.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and pretty drinkable, with no booziness. and a great drinkability.
This is definitely an older can, and it's Harpoon, so I'm surprised that I liked it as much as I did.

A: The beer is very dark brown in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left lots of wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of peanut butter are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of peanut butter along with hints of cocoa nibs and vanilla.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has nice aromas and flavors of peanut butter and isn't as heavy as you would expect for a peanut butter beer.

A: Pours a dark brown color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing
S: Peanut butter, almonds, , cocoa, and vanilla all up front along with some general nuttiness and caramel malt sweetness
T: Starts off with a mix of the peanut butter and almonds, as well as an undertone of general nuts. Cocoa and vanilla come in and give a bit of sweetness. Caramel in there as well. Finishes with lingering peanut butter and cocoa
M: Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation
O: A very good brew that blends the flavors nicely. Easy to drink, but definitely on the heavier side. Makes for a good dessert beer

Nice taste of chocolate and peanuts without the sweetness found in a lot of big beers now days. Very filling.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch light tan head over a translucent brown body with some lacing. Nose of chocolate, vanilla, and almonds and peanuts. Taste of same with a finish of peanut butter. Nice feel and overall, I would call this a milk stout and would love to try this on draft. Cheers!

L-The beer pours a hazy brown with a towering 3 plus finger tan head. The head recedes to a thin ring leaving a thin circle of lace at the top of the glass.
S- The nose is strong and super sweet mix of almond and vanilla. It's reminiscent of crème soda. Not much else can be detected.
T- On the palate the beer starts out with some cocoa. This transitions into that vanilla/almond combo from the nose. Thankfully here on the palate there is less sweetness and at the backend the vanilla subsides. You are left with a bit of lingering bitterness which I wouldn't think was possible based on the nose.
F- This is maybe the weakest aspect of the beer. Mouthfeel is fairly thin bordering on watery. Carbonation is strong initially, but light after the initial pour.
O- Different and despite the weak mouthfeel enjoyable. Not something your going to drink more than one of at a sitting. Hopheads will be turned off by the super sweet nose. May still be too sweet for that segment of drinkers. Worth a shot if you those with a sweet tooth.

Tried this at Eli Cannon's in Middletown, CT. Came in a tulip glass with a quarter inch of head and barely any lacing. Color is a dark root beer. Fizzy on the tongue but not oily. Taste is a little like birch beer mixed with a light ipa. Very nice and subtly so. Would definitely recommend.
