A hearty addition of flaked oats lends a slight haze and subtle sweetness to this India Pale Ale. The lively citrus and tropical fruit hop notes complement its smooth body and soft mouthfeel. Bright, tropical, and silky- brewed with an abundance of oat malt, flaked oats, and then dry-hopped with Denali, Idaho 7, and Mosaic.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; bottled 12/17/18.
A: Pours a hazy, golden orange color with a one finger, white head, cap retention, and complex Belgian lacing.
S: Aromas of caramel, citrus, and tutti-fruity.
T: Sweet. Flavors follow the nose. Bitterness in solid balance with sweetness.
M: Medium bodied with solid carbonation. I can imagine a little creaminess (but not nearly as much as I would expect, given the adjunct oatmeal).
O: A solid IPA, but the oatmeal component really isn't adding much to the creaminess.

A: Pours a golden yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves decent lacing
S: Citrus and tropical fruit up front along with a touch of pine and grass
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the citrus and tropical fruit notes and then picks up some floral and light pine. Moderately bitter. Finishes with some bready malt notes and lingering citrus
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth
O: A solid IPA that is very drinkable. The oats add a nice touch to the mouthfeel and add to the drinkability

LOOK: Pours a pale, hazy yellow with a white head that has average retention but does show some good side glass lace.
AROMA: Definitely get the oatmeal malts, some sweetness, along with some pungent, mostly citrus hops.
This was the 4th different Harpoon IPA for the variety pack and so far the best.

A slight haze to the golden-yellow color. High and fluffy head, dense foam.
The aromatic blend of hops pops right out with banana, sweet citrus, slight tropical topped off with a very nice oatmeal style malty aroma. A very nice nose.
I must say, my favorite adjuncts for IPA's are oats and wheat. Oats in the crispy golden malt brings such an excellent mouthfeel, smooth and lush. The flavor from the oats is spot on, smoooth grains with a very deep hop complexity. The hops range from citric/tropical/earthy and sweet tones all over. The hops are deep and mix very well with hearty graininess of the oats.
Overall, highly enjoyable with the depth of hop flavor and the smooth oats.

Harpoon trying to be with it, but this one falls a bit cereal short.
a) Pours a slightly hazed, golden yellow body with mid-last and lace head.
s) Aroma of an oatmeal grain sweetness with earthy hops.
t) Follows smell, fall like flavors.
f) Mid weight, but a bit lacking as it warms.
o) Becomes bland like oats in the end and at cask temp.

From the 12 fl. oz. can dated 12/3/18. Sampled on December 25, 2018.
The appearance is golden yellow, decent clarity, and a lingering lacing-leaving white head.
The aroma is pleasant with an oatmeal barley grain sweetness and a citrus or earthy character in the hops.
The mouthfeel is medium to full and smooth.
The taste strikes a nice balance between the sweet oatey malts and the earthy or citrus-like hop bitterness. Lingers some at the end.
