Near black color where light passes through the edge of the glass. Lasting head with a web of lace as the beer is consumed.
Dark, burnt malt (black patent?) smell. Faint cream.
The mouthfeel is smooth but not rich. The carbonation is fine bubbled but ample. The combination gives this beer an easy-to-drink presence. The burnt malt flavor is front and center but not as strong as the smell indicates. Nearly a stout, this is a very good black ale.
