Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of subtle spices. Taste has spices, but not overpowering, light pumpkin is present. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Nice 2-finger head for a bar pour. Nice lumpy lace left on the glass.
The pumpkin nose is soft and nearly devoid of the pie spice that so many breweries overdo. It’s attractive and subtle.
The “pie” flavors are stronger than the smell suggests but it’s still a subtle pumpkin beer. The body is below average in terms of fullness but the carbonation is neutral. The finish draws out more pumpkin than spice. This is the aftertaste. Overall, I like the flavor and aroma journey this beer brings—a superior entry into this style.

UFO Beer Company "Journey To Planet Pumpkin"
12 fl. oz. can "pkg 203 07/18/22 07:56" and sampled on 10/04/22
$2.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: The label rads "ALE BREWED WITH PUMPKIN AND SPICES AND WITH SPICES ADDED" so I'm assuming that they've used a pumpkin puree that was already spiced in the mash and then topped that up with a little more in the kettle. It's a hazy golden-orange in color beneath an inch and a quarter of rocky off-white foam. There's not as much spice in the aroma as I thought there would be, and to be honest, what's there is kind of dull. That's OK with me although I think that a lot of people who drink pumpkin beers are really looking for a stronger aroma. The spices in the flavor are much stronger but I'm not sure how strongly they come across as pumpkin pie spices. You can taste the sweetish and wheaty malt base, and the yeast character although I'm not really sure what's goin on there. Is it a Belgian yeast or a Bavarian hefeweizen yeast? I'm getting some banana but that could be from either yeast. It's hard to tell what's goin on in the yeast because of the added spices. I'm getting nutmeg and cinnamon, and perhaps some ginger. There's some clove as well, but again, that could be from the yeast so I don't know where it might be coming from. In the end it's not exactly what I think most people expect from a pumpkin beer but it's still good, and at least in my opinion, a bit unique. It's not very bitter but the spices balance it out and it finishes mainly dry. I feel that you probably want some sweetness to it anyway, but maybe that's just me. As I see it, without any sweetness you end up with a much spicier, and more bitter beer. This is good. It's nicely balanced. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp, and then smooth. Looking back, the head held up very well to begin with but then faded, and unfortunately the lacing was limited to just spots and splashes. I'm enjoying this and I'll say that just based on its uniqueness it's probably worth trying even if you're not a fan of "pumpkin beer".

Pretty good Pumpkin beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features an orange/copper color with a medium sized white head. Head retention is a bit better than average and there is some lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include bready and a little caramel malt, fresh pumpkin and a subdued amount of pumpkin spices. I liked it because the pumpkin spices were not overdone. Mouthfeel was about average richness, smooth with just the right amount of pumpkin spices. This is not a memorable beer by any standard but if you are in the mood for a Pumpkin beer that is not just a potpourri of spices, this one will do very nicely!!!!

12oz can. Poured a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of sweet pumpkin, caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon and subtle vanilla. Nice pumpkin flavor with all the pie spices that you'd expect.

From a 12 oz. can dated 08/09/21. Sampled Nov 6, 2021.
The appearance is about what one would expect from the style with an orange-amber color under a boisterous off-white head.
Aroma of pumpkin spice ala cinnamon and nutmeg and crackery malts way down below. Nothing extraordinary given the style.
Smooth light-medium mouthfeel.
The taste is sweet and then alive withy cinnamon and nutmeg spices. They burn a little. But otherwise a fairly mellow finish. Nothing out of this world. Very typical of the style.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazed golden orange color with a one finger head of orange tinted white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a roasted pumpkin smell mixed with a decent showing of nutmeg and a little bit of a cinnamon smell. Along with these aromas comes some sweeter smells of caramel and brown sugar as well as a bit of a doughy smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready malt flavor mixed with a decent showing of pumpkin. At the same time there are flavors of caramel and brown sugar, as was noticed in the nose, which act as a base sweetness for the brew. Upfront there is also spice of cinnamon and nutmeg present with the two growing stronger as the taste advances. A little bit of clove joins at the end, and with a light hay like flavor that develops at he very end, one is left with a more crisp, and lightly spiced pumpkin flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium to slightly lighter, while the carbonation level is average. A slightly heavy body may have been slightly more fitting for the pumpkin flavors of the brew, but overall the feel was pretty good.
Overall – A decent, not overly sweet pumpkin brew. Good when you feel like a pumpkin brew, but don’t feel like something too sweet.

Look: mostly clear pumpkin orange
Smell: pumpkin, citrus, fall spices
Taste: fall spices (nutmeg hits the strongest for me), hint of pumpkin, more spice than pumpkin, some maltiness throughout
Feel: medium body
Overall: not bad, not amazing, pretty good. Not a ton shines through, nothing distasteful shows up, easy drinking that doesn't vie for your attention which isn't a bad thing.
