When adding this beer, I had to choose between a Vienna Lager or a Smoked Beer. The smell and the taste made this an easy choice -- definitely smoked.
Amber to brown color. Clear. Minor head, no lacing.
Clean fire pit smell with none of the ashy-ness of most Rauchbiers. It's as if the fire had just started.
The lightly caramelized malt starts the beer, like a Vienna. The smoke, like the smell, is clean and subtle enough to bring complexity to this beer. The finish draws a touch sweetness, perhaps apple cider? Appropriate body and carbonation. Soft and short aftertaste.
