Had on tap at Blind Tiger in NYC at their Harpoon event on 8/4/10. This particular batch is from '08. Served in a tulip glass.
A: Black cherry color with carbonation apparent of soda pop. A little lacing.
S: Grapey, wine-like, and a touch of oak.
T: Sour, funky, and leathery. Flavors of dark fruits, grape skins, and chocolate oak in the background. Lots going on here.
M: Nicely carbonated and the perfect amount of "bite" from the booze. The barrel-aging really did this beer wonders.
D: Perfecto!
Overall, an absolute rare treat. Thanks Alan!
