Good head but I was kicking the keg. Leaves some blanketing lace initially. The liquid is dark brown but allows light to pass along the edge.
Smells like a chocolate Porter with a bit of unusual sweetness.
Very funky taste with a lot of sourness. More than the stout certainly. I think if you are a fan of Bretton, you might really love this version, but stout lovers will be seriously surprised and perhaps disappointed. There is little "stout" in this beer.

Looked like your regular chocolate stout. The smell was of something else. The real chocolate smell was present but with something funky. It's a got a funkdified oak smell to it. These smells are your predominant tastes as well. Very strong sour oak bourbon taste to it. It's got a chocolate taste that hits the palate. Tastes much more boozy than it was. It did a number on my stomach as well. I won't be back for more.
