On-tap at Surfrider Cafe, listed at 6.5% ABV. On to the beer:
Like the color of black ink, this stout is topped by a short, lacing-like head. Dark cocoa syrup and some smokiness are the aromas to crawl out of the beer. Its taste at the begining is smoky with a little plum. Decent amount of sweetness coming from the malt. A sthe beer begins to dry, it goes a little hoppy and fruity. Aftertaste lingers with a mix of smoke and roastines. Medium heavy in the mouthfeel, a touch viscous and syrupy. No problems coming back for more sips.
A more than decent stout to drink. Certainly worth a sample.
