Consumed June 29th, 2012 at the brewery. 6.1% ABV noted on menu.
A one finger tan head starts off atop this deep brown beer. It subsides to a thin layer soon enough but does provide some clingy lacing.
Slight coffee aroma. Not much else going on in the nose.
Flavor is slightly sour. Muted bitter coffee. A dash of semi-sweet coffee and ashtray. Long lasting bitterness on the end is primarily ashy.
Some carbonation prickle, slightly creamy.
The most enjoyable beer I had at this establishment: faint praise.
