Dropped by the brew pub after hiking to Berry Creek Falls. Dark brown in color with slight lacing on the shaker glass it was served in. Not much in the aroma department, some slight nutty aroma. Decent nutty flavor that was mostly roasted malt, and not much hops in there, as typical of the style. Slight chalky, or slightly sour undertone to the flavor. Right level of carbonation, and enjoyable to drink after the hike. A notch above a macro-nut brown like Newcastle, and a solid, but not exceptional brew for this style. Will probably have another next time I'm in Boulder Creek.
