On tap at the brewpub. I had a flight of three at lunch and this was the best. Went well with a cheese sandwich. The Biere probably is a bit strong for an ambree', but it had some nice carmel-like malts. It had a modest 28 IBU to keep the sweetness in check.
This was oak-aged for 9 months and the barrel taste lingered long after the sandwich was gone; an indication of what was better. Wynkoop seemed to be experimenting with barrels. This was a good one and worth repeating.
