Brewed with local honey, on tap at the Brewpub.
Very nice crystal clarity to a honey color beer. Short cap of white head. No lace.
Sweet and spicy clove and floral/grassy notes.
Tastes sweet for a saison, though considering the honey added I don't mind so much. Flavor is deep, mild clove and peppery notions, along with some boozy honey. A bit of numbing fresh clove flavor on the back end.
Lingering bitterness here, though the finish is overall extremely clean.
Overall not as funky as some of its bretheren, but this saison can hang with 'em, and provide a nice kick to the palate to boot!
