"My beers are on the house, or the house burns down." ‐Tommy, probably, if he ever visited us. Malty notes of caramel, toffee, and a slight nutrients. A hint of fruitiness from English yeast. Nice earthy hop flavor from crystal hops.

Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival, 1 finger of white head sat on top of a reddish brown body. Some nice lacing is forming.
Aroma is a bit confusing and heavy on the fermentation notes. It is hoppy upfront, but I'm picking up American hops that are bright and fruity, not what I'm looking for in this style. There are some toasty and roast malts that peek through the hops, but they don't go together very well.
Taste is better than the aroma since the malts shine through more, but it is stil out of balance thanks to the choice of hops. It is bitter first and then a malty sweetness really kicks in.
Feel is very malty, verging on heavy. For the ABV, even at 6.4, and the level of hoppiness this comes off as too heavy. It isn't very refreshing or drinkable and the finish is incredibly long.
Overall, I usually enjoy ESBs but this just wasn't balanced nor was it traditional. It just isn't very good, at least this batch isn't.
