On-tap at the brewpub, a very decent porter. Lots of foam, big roastiness. Above average carbonation. Malted down balance, though leans to sweet. Drinkable for sure. Not too dark for the style yet not watered down.Cut down the carbonation of the taps and we have a big winner.

On-tap at the brewpub.
I'm not sure if this was particularly fresh, or if its been improved... but I thought it was quite good! (though maybe my tastebuds were biased by the previous pale ale).
A: Black with a slight mahogany tinge; light tan head, good retention, great lace.
S: Mocha, licorous, molases, slight fruityness.
T: Mocha, molases, licorous, dark bread, brown sugar, slight fruityness, hints of nut, mild roasted acidity. Surprising flavour for its strength.
M: Moderate body is creamy; Carbonation is lower than moderate. Very pleasant.
D: Plenty of flavour for its strength; quite sessionable!

Not too impressed with this offering other than it had not bad coffee notes and a sweetish finish. The nose was non-existent and the head was lacking. It was served way too cold and yes, the beer does improve with warmth. This is another okay porter by a BC brewpub. Drinkable but not memorable.
