Winter seasonal Fruit Hog, pint on industry Wednesday.
This beer appears a hazy pale straw colour, with a thin cap of anemic white head, which predictably leaves nothing in the way of the lace around the glass. It smells of faint tropical fruit, a bit of apricot, and mild wheat grain. The taste is a blend of apricot and sugary passion fruit, pale wheat malt, and a bit of weedy hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight in a fruity, saccharine manner, and generally smooth. It finishes sweet and fruity, the tropical nature coming through a fair bit more.
An agreeable enough fruit ale, if a bit muddled in its provenance. Weird time of year for it, though. Think I'll have a Blue Monk in order to re-acclimatize.
