Formerly known as Calabaza Blanca

Farmhouse witbier brewed with pilsner malt, wheat malt, raw wheat, Tettnang hops, coriander, sweet and bitter orange peel. Aged for 2 months in oak. Brewed in Belgium's beer blanche tradition, refreshingly tart, with a wonderfully dry finish.

Pours a gold color with virtually no head. Look of apple juice. Aroma of fruit juices. Taste is tart fruit juice with a sweet finish. Crisp and dry.

Blanca pours a clean golden color, lots of bubbles, and a medium-sized lacing head. The aroma is tart, with some metal notes. The flavors are tart, creamy, and bright, with some hibiscus notes. Good feel. Overall, mild tartness, and very bright, easy, and full of flavors.

Mildly cloudy amber/orange appearance
Body was about average with just below average carbonation
Aroma was sent sour funk with a grass as well as earthy qnd floral
Taste was mildly sweet but quickly took over by some tartness that lingered
Overall a great beer, flavorful and interesting but well done in that no one particular flavor dominated

That's a good beer! The color was fine, but nothing super impressive.
Decent carbonation with a medium white head that dissipates quickly. Incredibly sour initially, but quickly get used to it.
Notes of lemon, melon and grass. The taste really is incredible and the it's about as refreshing as beer can get.

Pale gold and gem clear (SRM 3-4). One a half inches of white foam builds in a Geneseo Tavern Weizen glass before settling to one half-inch. Miscellaneous tiny bubbles of random carbonation dance around a single column that steadfastly holds for the duration. A film forms legs while displacing spotty lace. Once yeast is added, an opalescent cloud fills the glass.

The aroma has a strong funkiness moderated by modest skunkiness. Oak and leather allow room for contrasting coriander and lemon. The added yeast diminished the skunkiness.

Lemon powerfully opens the flavor, while coriander and lime follow. Tartness far outweighs the sweetness, which is high in itself. A long herbal finish never subsides. The added yeast brings tangerine and slight earthiness.

It has a light to medium body and a soft silky-smooth texture. Alcohol is far more present than expected. Fine carbonation fills the mouth with each sip.

This is a refreshing and relaxed beer. I am enjoying it with an intense Gruyere and find the pairing brings out the nuttiness of the cheese and soothes the sharp tartness of the lemon.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Willi Becher glass

The beer pours a medium/light straw color with about 2 fingers worth of foamy white(ish) head that recedes quickly into a cap, and leaves behind virtually no lacing

The aroma is bright and inviting, consisting of wheat crackers, orange zest, and coriander with notes of oak, and a light tartness.

Like the aroma, the taste is wheat bread/crackers, orange peel, coriander and hints of oak. The tartness compliments the other flavors in the beer very well and add a complexity to the beer that takes it to another level. Medium bodied and well carbonated with a dry finish

Overall this is a very nice beer! While I enjoy a good Witbier, it is not one of my favorite styles, and not one that I revisit terribly often, but this beer is on a whole other level. I will definitely be on the lookout for this while out at my local bottle shop!

Look: Medium to light yellow on the pour with a sudsy off-white head that is short-lived and fizzles to a film, leaving minimal lacing behind
Aroma: Leather, oak wood, Brett yeast, light tart notes, orange peel, warm wheat bread, coriander, and some fruity esters
Taste: Opens up with a nice hit of wheat bread, coriander, and orange peel before the Brett influence come a-knockin’ with oak and tartness. Deep leather notes come forth in the middle and the tartness holds through as the whole intro of flavors starts up again on the close
Mouthfeel: Full but light, medium-high carbonation, and mildly dry on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. Another winner from these folks and a well-made and delicious one at that. A lot going on in this beer but it’s never muddled nor does that Brettanomyces detract from the base Belgian Witbier, which is nice, but instead adds tremendous depth to it, all of which plays out nicely when drinking it

16oz can purchased from the fridge as part of a 4-pack for $11.99. The canned on date is very hard to read....looks like it says March something....figure that it is 2-3 months old.

Look: I poured the sediment and the result is a slightly hazy cloudy yellowish-orange color. There was a nice-looking head at first, but it went away quickly especially after I added the yeast. Nice steady stream of tiny bubbles rising up the glass. It looks like a nice-looking Witbier.

Smell: It smells good - it's acidic, lemony, and spicy with notes of clove, pepper, coriander, and orange peel. There's a bit of that funky farmhouse character too / band-aid notes.

Taste: It's very tasty and refreshing. Am I drinking a lemonade or a beer? Seriously though, it's a well-made beer that I am enjoying. Up front, it has a nice burst of acidity. Initially, I had thought that it was a bit watery but I don't still feel that way. The beer is so easy to drink. It finishes with a bit of spicy notes, with aromatic orange peel, a bit of bitterness from hops, and a dry, tannic finish.

Feel: The mouthfeel is nice with very gentle, soft carbonation from the tiny bubbles.

Overall: Compared to Bam Biere, I like this slightly more. It's very tasty, refreshing, easy to drink. A very nice warm weather and food beer.

Pours a hazy golden straw yellow with a minimal head that rings the glass. Limited lacing. Consistent carbonation. Spicy, tart, peppery. Definite wit taste. Clean, dry finish.

Yet another entry into "how have I not had this yet?" Cloudy golden pour with a white head but little retention. Belgian yeast, wheat, great orange and coriander, slight flowers, lemon, and slight apple in the taste, way more going on here than expected. This is because the smell is more yeast, citrus and coriander centric. Juicier but yeast still does well, wheat need to have a stronger grip though to convince me this is a new world take on a classic instead of something new altogether. Glad I finally tried this one, would be ideal in late spring
