Draft sample at MBGF Summer09.

Poured cloudy pink color with a minimal frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy floral and fruity citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sour flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration.

My expectations where met with another complex beer.

Not only was this beer brewed with hibiscus flowers, but it was served on cask. Had this at the Buckeye Beer Engine. Served in a pint glass.

A- Imagine pink lemonade sitting in a glass. That's exactly what it looked like. Produced two fingers width of white head; minor lacing. Left a thin white ring around the glass.

S- Wheat with some sour funk all rolled into one. Also getting some barrel notes in there as well. Not as pronounced or complex as I originally thought it was going to be.

T- Much like the aroma. Pleasant sour, funky notes are the first thing I noticed. Not overwhelmingly sour, just enough to not be disappointed. This is accompanied by wheat characteristics. The beer finished with the an uncommon floral flavor that was quite unique. Not overly complex, but pretty intriguing.

M- Perfect for this style. The natural carbonation from the cask worked wonders and made the body feel extremely smooth.

D- Probably the most drinkable beer I have ever had. At 4.5% abv, coupled with being on cask, this is undoubtedly the most sessionable sour beer I have ever had.

Overall, putting this on cask really made this beer. It allowed for more of the flavors to come out and lent a unique feel to sour beer that made it way more drinkable than usual. As stated above, this is the most drinkable sour I have had to to date.
