A: Mildly hazy reddish-brown. Looks nice on immediate pour but head fades right afterward.
S: Malty smell without much hop character. Slightly sweet nutty smell.
T&M: Slightly sweet and not overly so, like I was expecting. This is a chestnut beer and you can taste it somewhat. Very little hop character, although there is something that brings a sense of balance. Carbonation is moderate, just enough to give it some character.
O: Not a bad little beer. I was expecting something a little cloying and this is easy to drink at 4%, light, and complements my dinner very nicely (smoked duck and vegetables with some cheesy focaccia on the side). Nutty flavor really comes out and goes well with the food and cheese. I wouldn't just sip on this beer in the afternoon, but it's great for pairing with a meal.
