I went to Craft Beer Rising on Saturday night and it was really great. I'll be going next year for sure.

    Blue Point (USA)
    Oatmeal Stout
    Blue Point Toasted Lager
Goose Island (USA) Bourbon County Stout
    Goose Island Gillian
    Wild Beer Wildebeest
    Electric Bear Cherry Blackout
    Fyne Ales Mills & Hills
    Crate Brewery Imperial Coffee Stout
    Tyne Bank Creme Caramel
    Beavertown Heavy Water
Bad Seed Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Two Tribes Island Records Jamaican Porter
    Founders (USA) Rubaeus

I went hard on Imperial Stouts and it was worth it. Cherry Blackout, Wildebeest, Mills & Hills, Imp. Coffee Stout, Heavy Water were all fantastic and I'd gladly have them again and again.

A select few from the last couple of weeks.

Old Chimneys Good King Henry Special Reserve (2013) - I'd seen a score of hit and miss reviews on this beforehand. Having now had it for myself, I can safely say I'll be in the hit category. Caramelly, dark chocolatey, boozy, warm, viscousy bottle of brilliance. Shades of Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Yellow Belly. Definitely worth the wait. *beer of the bunch*

Siren's Calypso Berliner Weisse (Cascade & Mandarina) - a stark contrast to the above. Wasn't expecting so much from this. Fantasticly tart, juicy & fruity. When (if) summer arrives, I'll be wanting more of this.

Wild Beer Co.'s Sleeping Lemons - similar to the Calypso in terms of tangyness. Like cloudy lemonade with some pineapple. Another for the summer hit list. Loved it.

Fallen Brewing's Big Raspberry Dog Chew - like a raspberry and chocolate brownie, but not as sickly. Thoroughly enjoyed this; though it's sweetness meant I probably wouldn't have more than 1 per sitting.

Had one of these a couple of weeks ago, really liked it, but agree that more than 1 might be a bit much.

Didn't report back on my Edinburgh day out last week, was too busy celebrating a 3-0 win :stuck_out_tongue:, had,

Pilot - Murder on the Oreo Express - nice dark beer with a hint of Oreo, bit flat though.
Fallen - Trainwreck - DIPA with bold citrus flavour and sweet background,
Brewdog - Jet Black Heart Stout - lovely Oatmeal Milk Stout similar to their Prototype,
Stones - Xocoveza - dark chocolate with a hint of spice.

Had a few others, but these were the only new ones I had.

The Jet Black Heart is the same as Prototype Milk Stout. It was the winner of the contest and is now in regular rotation for BrewDog. I had it and rather enjoyed it. I'm always in for a Nitro Stout.

That'll be why they tasted similar then :grinning:.

Didn't get it in BrewDog, but The Bow Bar. Didn't even think to ask about it, just saw it and fancied trying it. Really liked it.

Popped into town yesterday to view a room so stopped in at my favourite Kew pub, the Kew Gardens Hotel.
Sambrooks Powerhouse Porter - the taste of how I imagine London porter used to. Bit of bitterness with a smokey sweetness.

Hogs Back Bitter - okay bitter, nothing special

I have a couple of beers in amongst my Tesco delivery tonight
So grabbed a couple of beers from the hefty priced indy wine shop to stop it from being joyless ticking
    Tesco is
    Wharfebank Tether Blond
    And
Waddlegoose Lane Deben Draught 500Ml which I presume is a lager
then from corks out Brew by Numbers saison as a bridge from lager to ale
then I finally caved in and got the Thornbridge Japuir X

The Jaipur X was what I expected
a bit of a let down
Thornbridge do some world class cask
But this is bottled and their bottles are barely adequate
Especially considering the strength and the cost and the hype
This is more than twice the price of SN Torpedo or Brewdog Hardcore

    Congrats George!

Just a half a can of Magic Rock Salty Kiss tonight. My mum's new favourite beer, seeing as she loves lime, Gooseberries and other such acidic things.

    G&T's for me tonight #beertraitor

I've noticed two new beer bars opened in Glasgow today, Six degrees North have opened a 30 tap bar on Dumbarton road and another pub in the merchant city has been renovated into a pie+cask/craft beer bar . Will need a thorough checking out in the weeks ahead I think

Smells a lot better than regular trooper

Liking the sound of that Hanglow. Going to Glasgow tomorrow, but unfortunately heading to the East end, not the West end.

Tonight i shall mainly be imbibing the new Brew By Numbers DIPA, and possibly a couple of bottles from ABC i picked up. Local bar has Myrcenary on too, that is one mighty beer that may warrant a trip!

    Founders Tap takeover last night;
started with Tapped Ultra Weisse then onto the Founders selection, Azacca IPA, Dark Penance, Centenial IPA and finally Spectra Trifecta. Spectra Trifecta is a Chamomile, Ginger & Lemon-grass Kolsch, ie. in no way a Kolsch, and more like some sort of cough medicine... do not like!
