If you're going to delete your Facebook tirade perhaps this could go next.

I can't delete that, and I hope you're not calling that a tirade on my behalf. As I said on there, it was a mistake I made in which I was unaware of.

It was unequivocally a tirade, still present in your review you can't delete here. I have a screenshot if you need it. Someone swung by and said "here's some free beer you can't get yet" and you DEMOLISHED it on multiple platforms. Maybe they weren't even short fills. It doesn't matter. What I want from you is to imagine that, as a kind gesture, you dropped off a prototype bike pedal your store sells at a local brewery, because you're a nice guy. But then someone of little consequence that works there wrote a scathing review of the pedal and your shop on Bike Advocates. And they referenced a previous pedal, clearly displaying a bias. I don't have much of a stake in this other than hoping nobody ever gives you a free beer ever again.

3.7 is demolished? Scathing? "Unequivocally a tirade?" You might be able to squint and find a tirade there, but at best it's borderline and certainly equivocal.

If the beer is great, that review will get washed away in the tide. If the beer isn't so great, other reviews will end up reflecting that. About the only thing of consequence his positive rating / mild disappointment review might effect is advanced hype traders. Surly might be your local brewery, but it's not a comparable business to a local bike shop. And the potential negative impact of that review is effectively zilch...except for the person who wrote it who comes off ungrateful.

I agree, if someone does something nice for you, does you a favor, gives you something free, you would generally be polite to not go out of your way to make negative comments at all, just pass. Or wait a few weeks until there's lots and then slip yours in there. I generally agree with your perspective, but your response is just as over-the-top as the one you're condemning.

Now I won't let the door hit me on the way out. Cheers

The thesis statement of the Facebook post was "a total let down." The conclusion stated: "I'm getting a little frustrated with Surly's carbonation problems..." Pretty tirade-y.

Did you honestly just call a consumer "someone of little consequence?"

Do you work for surly or have some sort of personal stake in this beer? Don't know why you are attacking someone's beer review so relentlessly. Doesn't matter how he got the beer, that's how he feels about it. Let it go.

And yeah, a lot of consumers are getting annoyed with the carb issues.

This is not a tirade...just FYI.

He must work for them or sell their beers for a distributor. His response is similar to the Surly employees (and employees of distributors who sell Surly) who criticized his original, now deleted, post on the 'Beer People' Facebook page.

Only in Surly Fanboy land is that even close to a tirade.

I didn't think Surly nation could get any more ridiculous. But between the posts on this thread and the response from Surly on Facebook--Bravo, you've really outdone yourselves.

How about this for a 'tirade': If your product isn't worthy to be reviewed, or commented on, how about not giving it to the public?

For those of us who are Facebookless (or missed it if it is deleted), can someone post Surly's response or at least give us the cliff notes?

I thought only RARE beer was supposed to be highly rated. I guess we have to add FREE beer to that list now too.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Note to self: Surly Nation is really easy to troll, even when you aren't trying to troll...
