I don't know any more than that. I don't know those guys, so I can't vouch for them. Honestly, I would have chalked it up to the standard rumor milling or, at worst, attempts to increase hype were it not for the screenshots. Even then, I'm still on the fence.

But this is the second time I've heard someone specifically mention the vanilla variants as being infected.

 

I was at 3 Floyds last week and the addition to the brewery definitely looks like its finally complete. However I did notice that they had construction vehicles in the lot NEXT to that. More expansion?

 

Sounds like some group E'ers are trying their best to get Vanilla to fall to their group. If it's infected FFF won't sell it, maybe it will all be on draft to get rid of it before it sours if it already isn't, but they certainly wouldn't bottle it.

 

They are going to double the size of the brewpub

I heard the opposite rumor about Handjee this year. Supposed to be so awesome it's going to make you blow your load right off the bat. And it's only for Group A. Even if they have bottles left over for other groups, nope. They are just going to smash them on the ground. I swear on everything. Read that somewhere super credible and 3 other random dudes also confirmed it on Reddit. Also Chicago Tribune too I think.

Just sharing the rumor mill - I wouldn't have even brought it up if someone hadn't already mentioned it here first.

 

Even if vanilla is infected they could in theory throw vanilla beans into another BA dark lord.

Adjuncts are added afterwards, and not aged for a super long time.

I can't wait until the golden ticket comes back tho year, and it's "golden ticket winner" gets variant and loser gets 2 vintage DL.

I'm group B, so obviously I hope that's not the case, but it would be funny.

 

Once again, I brought it up in jest. I by no means have any sources and shouldn't be counted as a "mention." I want to make it super-clear that I didn't claim anything like that so I don't get stoned to death later. I'm less credible than *political reference redacted*.

Just got a text from Nick Floyd that Handjee was indeed the infected one. They're still going to release it though so it'd be wise to pass on it

 

Same here - I just think it's interesting that the "default" rumor is that all vanilla variants are infected. I suppose it will just get worse before it gets better.

It's just a shame that the super secret double barrel aged Maple/coconut/coffee variant (Double Fisted Handjee) used second-use beans from Handjee, and so is likely already being drain poured. /s/

 

They renamed this variant for 2017. It's called "2 Hands 1 Jee" now

What info are you looking for? Let's be honest here, tickets just went on sale two days ago - there isn't a whole lot of information out there. Nothing has been released regarding variants or bands so the only info IS rumor and speculation.

 

There is no useful info when it comes to DLD. You never know what to expect. The first time you go gives you a better idea of how you personally might want to do DLD the next time, but that usually gets blown out of the water by circumstances as well as your own level of drunkenness depending on the epicness of whatever bottle share you participated in, planned or not.

 

I dunno, they did release Bully Guppy....
