This got me far too excited. I expected barrel aged since they claimed "reserva"....wrong. Good thing I didn't trade away what people were asking for before I actually looked into it.

 

I bummed I’m in Myrtle beach area and the bridge through Georgetown is closed due to the flooding so I couldn’t get there if I wanted too.

 

But it's a silent release so that makes it good.

 

Let's not forget the pretty wax. Same color wax as OG Reserva!

Looks like the same label as Coffee Cake, guessing the wax was used so you can distinguish this from the regular Coffee Cake.

 

Yes, but adds to confusion that this is NOT barrel aged. Grand scheme of things, labels are not that expensive.

Nobody is opening bottles of Coffee Cake Reserva apparently. Looking to get one but won't until I see more reviews, once the "honeymoon" phase wears off.

 

Have they ever done a BA Stout that didn’t have “barrel-aged” in the name? Doesn’t seem that confusing to me.

 

If you say Reserva, i.e. Mexican Cake Reserva....that does not have "barrel aged" in the name but was indeed aged in barrels

Cool story. And I can pull up untappd and it is called Mexican Cake Reserva. Again, when they say "reserva treatment" in the description, most take that as barrel aged.

 

LOL I’m not telling you a story, I’m telling you what the beer is called. It says “Barrel Aged” on the label and was listed on their on-site list as such. I’m sorry an inaccurate listing elsewhere has you confused.

Just trying to help you out. Did you think they were selling a stout aged in Pappy barrels to-go for $25 a bottle because they used the word “Reserva?”

 

Anywho.... Did anyone actually open any of those bottles yet? Sold out so quick, I figured at least someone would try one...
