Any rumors on BA cake Time Frame yet?
There’s at least some distro for this, just found some bottles in Aiken ~140 miles out
I actually found some in Greenville too.
I may pass on this one. Untappd reviews all say it's super peaty, which isn't really my cuppa tea (although I really liked Scotch Cake).
I tried to grab some from Harvard's in Aiken last night, but they said they sold out in one day
Where's that BA Cake?!
Long sold out mate.
So you’re saying 2018 barrel aged Mexican cake has been released already and no one has said a word but you?
I’m pretty sure that was some sarcasm. I think we all know it hasn’t been released yet. Last year was first weekend in December if I remember right.
The endless posts of people asking when ba cake is going to get released does tend to get old.
When is BAMC being released this year?
"Any announcements will be made on our Facebook page up to a few days before the release. Specific details of the release (tickets, bottle limits, etc.) will be specified at that time."
Whew, now that we all have that information, people can stop asking when BAMC is going to be released.
They are releasing some vintage BAMC though this week. How does a 2014 and 2015 drink you think? How oxidized might it get? $115 for 4 bottles.
Had a 15 last year around release time and it was drinking fine... to be honest at 115 for 4 bottles I’m surprised Westbrook isn’t using this as more of a cash grab.... 28$ a bottle isn’t so bad.
It’s a really fair price especially when you consider you’re getting a bottle hasn’t been shipped and don’t forget a portion of the profits are being donated.
For those who went to the ”cellar sale” yesterday. How long did it last? Did they run out or anything?
Also - what is the cellar sale for today?
3 2015 chocolate bourbon cake
2 2015 cognac cake
Not sure about yesterday, but I went today and at opening there were maybe a dozen or so folks waiting in line. Very easy in and out - maybe 10 minutes max. I'd imagine if they release something 'rarer' (e.g., Bourbon/Rye, Pappy, Maple/Bourbon) it may get close to selling out - otherwise this just felt like a way for them to clear through some inventory, donate some proceeds to charity, and for us beer nerds to get some solid cellared bottles at a reasonable price. Feels like everybody wins - kudos to Westbrook on this one.
I got there at about 6:30 and they were sold out. Bummed since I made a hour and half trip from Pawleys Island.
Gonna try again Saturday but be there when they open. Curious to see what other bottles they do.
Sorry to hear it, man - that's interesting though. Based on the initial line up of people, I figured it was going to last awhile at least today. Best of luck on Saturday - no clue what they'll release, but hope you can snag some good bottles. Cheers.
I spoke with the bartender yesterday and he said Tuesday's sold out just before closing. Surprised Wednesday's sold out as fast as it did, but maybe maybe folks getting an early jump on the holiday had something to do with it. Agree with @Fireman_RK, big Kudos to WB on doing this.
Side note, but I was really impressed with the nitro Kentucky Style Coffee Stout they had on tap. Damn good beer.
Ed is playing games today
I mean, WHO DOESNT LOVE PECANS?!
How did this get buried so far down lol
Ed is having too much fun again today -_-
How is the new annv? Are the pecans easy to pick up?
How did people magically find the link?
It was up on their instagram for like 10 minutes yesterday in the bio.
Man, wonder if there will be any hope for us without it.
It did last for a little bit last time. (Like maybe 10 minutes). You'll be fine.
really trolling aren't they?
Such a good day for trolling it seems. :/
I wonder if theyre holding off potentially because of inclement weather. Ed does love doing this kind of stuff tho
Well, that was super easy
Whew, glad that’s over... been sweatin it for two weeks! Nine minutes??
Looked like less than 5 minutes on my side, but maybe some will drop out.
I missed out. Sold out within 2 mins for me been refreshing ever since. I swear every year this happens to me.
Is the taproom open to general public on this day, and if so, is it nuts to try to get into?
It’s open, there’s plenty of variants on tap throughout the day with little to no line. It’s worth the trip even if you missed out on bottles.
