Have to try that one if I get the chance. I took a beer buddy to Wet Ticket and Two Ton yesterday.

Great review. If you see it, try City to Shore, another DIPA. I think it's Cape May's best.

Good evening NBS and thanks to @lordofthewiens for both the reminder of a second act, ( we are facing this now) and the great humorous send off today
We went to support 2 of my sisters in 1/2 marathon, then over to the Northampton Brewery for our Sunday Irish session. Those folks need to get some Quebecois sessions!
Todays offering is from that temperamental, Belgian brewer at Fantome. this is a remarkable treat with spring season written all over it
    Cheers all

Poured from an undated 750 ml bottle into the test glass.
A - Clear copper backdrop, marauding carbonation piles skyward in a 3" froth.
S - White pepper, Hibiscus, Rose pedal, honey comb, as with other Fantome offerings there is a bit of astringent in the nose.
T - Complex in the spice category, cinnamon, rose, again the white pepper, malts are full and short at the same time. A bit yeasty, but quickly wiped out by the spices.
M - Medium in texture, absolutely pops on the palate, semi sweet start leads immediately to a garden of texture, end is complete and a bit abrupt. Linger is herbal and refreshing.
O - What a delight, Fantome, hit this one straight down the middle, then the spice and herbals added quite a complexity.
Worth every effort to seek out.

Ok time for Mystery Beer #2 from @WesMantooth
This one pours a clear yellow gold with a slightly frothy white head that dies quickly leaving no lacing. Ill be damned if this doesnt look much like Mystery Beer #1!
But thats where the similarities end. Once I whiffed this I knew this was going to get interesting because this smells like a roasty toasty stout. Lots of dark notes: bakers chocolate, coffee and some hints of spices and vanilla but not barrel tannins.
Taste is interesting its almost a combo of the the first beer and a stout. Chocolate, coffee, but then a sharpness of lemon/citrus possibly?
And theres that champagne yeasty thing at the base. Very interesting.
The feel is crisp and light though its look is deceiving. Theres a dry tanginess to the finish.
I actually tried a "white stout" the last round of BIF but this doesnt seem quite that. It seems like a brut/stout?
    Is there such a thing?
    Youve got me going Corey!

Greetings fellow NBSers! A cloudy and chilly spring day here in the Fourth Corner. I spent my morning doing load-in and set-up for the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players version of The Mikado at the theater I work at, and have to go back for load-out in a few hours. That means I do not get to participate in the official "Share Date" of the latest NBS BIF, but, I will get some of them drank this week, and post reviews on the H&H thread. i would like to again thank @CanConPhilly for the great box he sent me.

If you are a NBS regular, maybe consider joining the next round, with a sign-up likely in late August. In the mean time, enjoy all the new treats folks are enjoying!

Thanks for the kind words, man. As hard as the last two weeks have been, I have been really moved by the outpouring of appreciation from so many customers, and that is a feeling that helps to soothe the pains. As does beer  Cheers!

@Coronaeus #4. Amazing Baltic Porter! Insane creamy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, licorice, molasses, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, herbal, wood, grass, peppercorn, piney hops. Light-moderate pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery hops; and roast/charcoal bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; some sticky hops, chalky char/roast, and resins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, minimal acrid/astringency. A bit aggressive, but not overwhelming on bitterness. Perfectly clean lager flavors, no yeasty notes. Amazingly clean/rich dark/black/roast/bready malts, fruity/nutty coffee complexity, and earthy hop presence/balance. Lightly sweet with lingering dryness. Reminds me of Peche Mortel a lot on the bitterness, and makes sense since it is a Collab with them. Just really killer stuff. 4.36

    Awesome.

    How was Two Ton?

I’ve been once and generally really liked the beers.

    People were awesome too.

    Thanks!

I believe I’ve seen it. I’ll pick it up on your recommendation.

Not much of a golf fan but like @Roguer said, it just seems fitting. Glad Tiger’s back.

Opened up this mystery beer, again from @beertunes and drank it over the course of watching Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse with my boys. (Great movie btw).

    Here’s my blind review.
Poured a deep brown, with red highlights. As it sits in glass it’s black. A finely bubbled khaki headsets atop the body. Appears almost like nitrogenated beer. Minor lacing on the glass too.
Aromas of brownie batter, char, milk chocolate, malted milk, marshmallow although I don't think it’s an adjunct.
Taste follows much of the nose. Dusty cocoa powder, light roast, vanilla, light roast. Bitter, earthy hops. Just wonderful as it warmed.
Slick mouthfeel, lighter body. I’d put it at
7-8% abv and call this either an oatmeal or milk stout.

    Reveal coming up.

Back with the mystery beer from @ovaltine:
Opening it while keeping it covered for blind tasting purposes was a bit awkward:
For the same reason, pouring it was a little awkward, and resulted in a gynormous head. BTW, that mug is also from @ovaltine, and will be featured again this NBS:
    Certainly doesn't look like a NE-style hazy.
Nose is reminiscent of a midwest (go figure, being shipped from northern Indiana) old school IPA, seemingly confirmed upon tasting it. Tea, grapefruit and pine tasting, with a good sized, bready malt backbone, yes it's gotta be a midwest IPA, or maybe pale ale.
    THE REVEAL:
Yep. Revolution's Anti-Hero, from Chicago. Can't get much more midwest than that!
I quite liked this. If it wasn't nearly 7%abv, I'd call it sessionable, and if I lived there, it might well be a regular fridge beer for me.

    Always more beer...

Poured from the bottle into a Ommegang tulip glass.

Deep looking body color, bright brass and clear bodied, with hues of dark brass yellow and pale lemon. Creamy forming two finger head, with rings of lacing and a simple eggshell looking white color.

Nice aroma. Light bready touches on the nose, hints of sweet rolls and dessert treats. Mild sensing acidity but pretty buried. Light touches of candied sugar as well.

Palate really opens up. Tangy notes of fruit apricot and sour peach on first sip. Simple bodied on the malt side, with a hint of Belgian sweetness balancing some of the tartness. Tea like chamomile and soft sage like herbs as well. Very mild tangy fruits with only a faint touch of sucrose.

Very nice simple sour, quite enjoyable.

Oskar Blues/Cigar City Bamburana, 12.2% ABV. Pours black and thick, with a 2 middle-finger foamy brown head that left lots of foamy lacing. Nose is bourbon, cinnamon, dark fruit, and a spice that I expect is the Amburana wood. Taste is sweet dark fruit, again the spicy wood, cinnamon, and very slight bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall world-class. This is going down incredibly fast. Three way tie for my favorite beer, with Vanilla BCBS and 2018 Proprietor's BCBS.

I waited for this to come to our market, but didn't so thanks to @Justonemore91 for helping me out with a couple of 4-packs. Going to have to seek out more of this, would buy a case!

So interesting thing about this beer. @beertunes actually sent this same beer 4 years ago for NBS BIF #1!! So I apologize for the NOT new beer !

I did not write a review for it then but did so today. Still a tasty beer and it was fun to review blind. Didn’t get any coffee but the cocoa sure did pop. And I nailed the abv!

Good afternoon and happy New Breakfast Sunday, BAs. Breakfast for lunner. I'll take it. But first, gotta get with the pleasantries. Ankle injury from last Saturday is starting to feel better and I'm taking my time to allow it to do just that. I was not a fan of that experience and am in no hurry to replicate. On another note, had to say good bye to my brother and his wife yesterday after a nice 10 day visit. Sad to see them go, but my liver will be thankful. No hikes still, especially with said ankle, but dammit I intend to go nuts here on that front pretty soon…

    Alright. Beer:30.

    Block 15
    Breakfast With Roses
    - Super Nebula aged in Four Roses barrels, with maple syrup, coffee, and cocoa nibs

A pitch black body completely absent of light is crowned by a silky smooth and creamy dark tanned froth. Though it leaves only a thin coverage and little lace, a milky way of beautiful swirls from khaki to caramel rest on top

Freshly splintered oak and spent dark roast coffee grounds impress on the nose first before a blend of cinnamon and nutmeg like spice. Semi sweet cocoa powder takes on the task of fading things out.

Spice forward with a burnt chile likeness is an unexpected but dominant flavor. Delicious. None of this advertised maple syrup plays a role in this symphony, but the oak and cocoa gladly elevate themselves in it place. Burnt toast with a drizzle of molasses, which assumingly can be perceived in place of the absence of maple syrup to my tongue, is met with the sweet and restrained shot of bourbon.

It's rich and creamy with a sweet start, dismissed quickly by a spicy and tingly feel. Arguably balanced, but that flip flop effect leaves it a bit uncentered to me. A tad hot with a roasted dark chocolate prescribed bitterness, and a creeping oak inspired dryness in the end.

More dry and robust than expected. This here is no pastry stout but the coffee defends the breakfast aspect proudly. It is a stouty stout, and immensely enjoyable. I'm not sure if it wins over original Super Nebula, but I won't complain if I can continue to compare.

After my official review, I gave Breakfast With Roses a rating of 4.35, with an rDev of -1.1%.

    Cheers.

Watched the Masters today start to finish and hats off to Tiger, without a doubt the greatest ever. Went to the gym and now getting into this American Wild Ale compliments of the VERY generous @JBowenGeorgia, who sent some 30ish beers as part of NBS 9.
Creature Comforts, Pearson, made with Georgia peaches and aged in oak barrels, aroma is peach, funk, taste is tart, sour, peach, more funk, wine, medium carb, John asked if I was a sour guy, well this beer has me feeling like a new style calling me. Very enjoyable beer, thanks so much JB!
