This beer is courtesy of @LehighAce06 Human Robot Czech 10 Czech Style Pale Lager, 4.2% ABV; 4.33 overall

Pours a bright & effervescent gold with 3 fingers of whippy pearl colored head. Stays effervescent, great head retention & lacing

S: Bready sweetness/doughyness, some soapy & pefumy hops once warmed up

T: Follows the nose, a little grassyness & floral hops, plus a kiss of dryness up front. Dryness & grassyness as this beer warms up, floral hops as well, just a trace of lemon as well. Finishes sweet/bready with grassyness & floral hops, plus pronounced dryness

MF: Medium body, crisp carbonation, nice balance. Carbonation tamps down as this beer warms up

Easy to drink, great example of the style

16oz can served in a big snifter. Don't see a date on the can. @russpowell sent it to, something to do with NBS BIF #18.

Pours a murky yellow-orange with a big, dense head, lots of active carbonation. Smell is creamy and tropical, vanilla and mango and marshmallow.

Taste is pineapple, marshmallow, and orange rind. There's a mild bitterness in there somewhere. Fairly juicy. Overall, actually kind of muted flavor, which is a bit strange.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, airy, something a little coarse. Overall, pretty good.

Poured from a 12 ounce can dated 12-6-21 into a snifter at 51 degrees.

Look- Ruby brown, low transparency, light brown creamy head, average head retention and lacing, moderate legs on glass sidewall.

Smell- Maple, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, high strength of scent.

Taste- Overbearing vanilla, maple, toffee, bourbon, nutty, highly sweet, highly boozy, high strength of flavor.

Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, highly creamy, highly sweet, moderately bitter, highly boozy, moderately mouth warming, moderately mouth coating.

Overall- The look was a very nice ruby brown with a light brown creamy head. Bourbon was plenty strong and a nice mix of maple, toffee, bourbon and vanilla. Flavor was much too dominated by vanilla, but still pleasant. Body was thinner than expected, but the high amount of creaminess was a great touch. This beer provided a good drinking experience.

This is a much needed change from the IPA session I've been doing the past few days. Great lime flavor and it is layered. Delicious and refreshing.

Beautiful light golden pouring beer. There's a bit of murkiness in this beer. There's a white 1 finger white head. The head retention is very poor, and there's no lacing on the glass.
Aroma is interesting. I get a bit of malt here in a biscuit form. I also get a great hit of lime in the aroma.
Taste - There's a ton of lime in the flavor and it hits in waves. Slightly tart and bitter up front. The lime gets more sweet on the backside. Slight biscuit notes also show up in the flavor of this beer.
The body is a bit bubbly, in spite of the head dissipating fast. crisp, clean, and somewhat dry on the finish.
Tasty and refreshing beer. A very easy drinker on a hot day.

I think there's another review in me. Cheers!

Poured from a 750mL bottle into my Unibroue tulip. This batch is 5.5% (rather than 6.5%).

Clear canary body with a lasting half finger of dense papaya whip cream. Fine yet sticky lacing, active, foamy, pearling surface slick - very good retention.

Winter fruit, gentle lactic/barnyard funk, honey, and lemon in the nose. Subtle, complex, and agrarian.

Spicy and tart with wonderful synergy between the yeast and oak. Malty with low herbal bitterness throughout. Hints of plum, coriander, and green peppercorn. Dry finish with some residual sweetness hinting at honey/caramel.

Creamy yet zesty, medium bodied with rich satisfying carbonation.

Well balanced blend - acidity and funk are accents to the contributions of the more fundamental ingredients.

Stop it!! You're both making me want to make the trek when we visit our friends in Waterbury come August. I haven't taken the trek there in I think 5 years now, even though we go to Waterbury every summer. That drive is just too daunting to me at times when I can get on draft so easily, but...well, you're making it hard on me now, especially if Everett is there, but I'll one up you @KP7, ever have Shirly Mae on tap there? That is a beer I wish I could have again one day.

From a 16oz can purchased at the brewery. No date on the can.

This beer pours pitch black, like others in the series. No chance of any light shining through this beer. The head is tan colored and 1 finger. The head retention is poor, but fairly expected for the ABV, and amount of barrel aging. There's no lacing on the glass.
Aroma is so rich. I get tons of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, dark fruit, and hints of the barrels used. These aromas are quite pleasing and really mesh together well.
Taste - Wow. layers of flavor here. caramel and toffee start it off. Chocolate and vanilla then hits. The dark fruits - plum/raisin - hits on the back. Notes of the barrels used also mesh in the flavor profile.
The body is smooth and full feeling. Thick and syrupy feeling. There's a burn, but it is slight, just warming really.
Damn amazing beer from them. Am I surprised it's good? Nope.

I will see you all at this virtual bar next weekend, and I'll be on the road in southern MN when I belly up to the bar. Cheers!

Clear, pale yellow body; excellent carbonation; dense, thick head, white and lasting. Grassy and herbal nose; pungent; obscure note of cereal grain in the background. The taste generally follows the smell; grass-like with a strong, bitter quality. Medium mouthfeel; fine balance between the residual sugars and inherent dryness.

It's not often I give a rather bland, generic overall score to a Russian River beer, but this one merits my assessment. Looks great, feels fine, but the taste comes across a way to grassy and bitter.

Poured from a pint can, the body is a mostly clear yellow with a finger of fluffy white head. Very light lacing.

Aroma is cracker, corn and a light floral hop.

Taste follows nose with a light bitterness balanced by the sweet malt and corn. Uncomplicated but a solid, refreshing lager.

Light on the palate, the carbonation is good, as is the mouthfeel.

    Overall, an easy drinking lager.

Two from Wunderkammer Biermanufaktur for tonight's new-to-me beers.
First up is Reverie, a Barr Hill Gin barrel aged ale.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/47666/707914/

500 ml bottled June 2023 from a blend of various brew dates.

Moderate pour yields a one inch white head over a slightly hazy straw colored body with lacing.

Earthy nose with oak, slight funk and herbal/floral notes.

Taste is near perfectly tart with oak, slight funk, and that earthiness giving way to a real nice Barr Hill Gin barrel flavor at the finish.

Very nice mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

Overall, earthy, funky, gin in a beer is fine with me!
A very refreshing offering from Albany, VT and would have another (or two) anytime!!

    Cheers!!!

From a 12 ounce can, the body pours a faded, not quite clear yellow with good initial head. Light lacing throughout the tasting.

Aroma is earthy hop piney goodness and sweet malt in the background.

Taste follows nose as the bitterness rises and is met with a sturdy malty backbone.

Carbonation was good with solid mouthfeel. Things dry up nicely and finish is soft.

A solid if unmemorable beer. Simple bitter ale and nothing’s wrong with that.

Late to the show, but tonight we are having:

One of the Destination Pilsners at least according to the can this is an Australian pilsner. Here we call it an American lager. It features decoction mashing and us cool.pool hopped with Galaxy, Enigma, and Vic Secret. I see notes saying this was brewed with finger limes but I don't see that on the web site or on the can so I gotta say I don't know...

Pours slightly cloudy gold with a huge pure white head of fairly dense foam. Outrageous cling to the glass. Solid ring and cap remain.

The aroma features clean, crisp malt as the underpinning. I'm not picking up lime in particular, but there's a lemon-lime soda aroma mixed with a suite of tropical and citrus fruits. There is passion fruit, oranges, grapefruit, melon. Very slight earthy component and an herbal component (the herb garden says marjoram or thyme) and a faint peppery spice.

A flavorful swig! Slightly sweet and definitely malty up front. And the totality of the taste reads lemon-lime like 7-up or Starry, but not particularly lime - makes no sense but it's how it hits me. I get the substantial tropical and citrus melange I'd expect plus a substantial melon flavor - strong and fresh fruitiness. There's a tad bit of resin and the herbal note from the aroma. A little peppery spice in the aftertaste and something like ginger. It borders on being an IPL but not quite there.

Feel is light and refreshing. Quick bitter hit past-swallow. Very pleasant aromatics linger.

Ok...I still don't know if they used finger limes or not. To me, the combination of flavors delivers something of a lemon-lime flavor. Whatever they did this is very tasty beer. Easy 4.2 for me. Clean, very flavorful.

Next up: Biermanufaktur Saison Beer from Wunderkammer.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/47666/707915/

    500 ml bottled June 2023.

Moderate pour yields a 5/4 inch white head over a hazy golden body with sticky lacing.

Nose of spice and citrus. Can't quite come up with the spice, but it sort of reminds me of a spice from one of my Mom's Christmas cookies; cardamom maybe?

Taste is light to medium tart with some grape coming through with a kind of citrus near the finish with again, that spice. Finish is sherry-like booze and quite delicious.

Very nice and full mouthfeel with more than medium carbonation.
    Wonderful!

Overall, I've never had anything like this before and I really like it.
Cheers to Vasili for another gem!

I'll admit that once was enough for me. This was around 2011, though, so they didn't have the setup they do now. We roasted in the sun for over two hours in line. Grabbed a pint and a growler fill and got back into the car and blasted the AC. With a lot of local spots with HF on tap, I'd just grab from there instead of making the trek.

And negative on Shirley Mae but it sounds fantastic.

    It's two different beers:

BA entry (https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26520/552225/) is for https://jacksabby.com/beers/lagers-of-the-world-australia/.

I made a new entry (https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26520/708046/) for the one you had that is part of the new destination pilsner series https://jacksabby.com/beers/destination-australia/. Still slotted in as an American lager--feel free to request a change to whatever you think is most appropriate.

If I have time I'll put in requests to change any of the other Destination Pils series that have gotten into the db incorrectly as they are a different series than LotW despite the repeated can labeling.

Okay for review# 7000 from @jschott75 Central Waters XXXIII Anniversary Ale ( Imp Stout ), 12.7% ABV; 4.25 overall

Pours an effervescent mahogany with a pinky of tan head. minimal head retention & no lacing

S: Dark fruit, some barrel notes, vanilla, chocolate, nose really opens up once warm

T: Dark fruit, barrel richness/dryness, figs, chocolate, cola notes up front, some leafy hops up front. Figs, barrel dryness, plums, vanilla & chocolate as this beer warms up, more leafy hops, a little molasses, just a little tinge of booziness. Finishes with a little barrel heat, oakyness, vanilla & chocolate & some figgyness & cola notes

MF: Medium/chewy bodied, slight carbonation, warming, slick

Enjoyable, not real easy to drink, plenty of complexity
