Hey, I didn’t name the style. Here are the best couple of examples I could quickly find from today’s WBAYDN. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a West Coast-produced NEIPA that looks like these. I suspect brewers out here just think there’s something wrong with beer that looks like straight-up OJ.

Went back to try the Energy Cone, glad I did, not sure if it’s a hazy, or WC IPA, but it’s good. Light haze but not real juicy.

A new brewery to me. This is the Wet Hop IPA CLS Farms Centennial from No Boat Brewing in Snoqualmie, Wash.

This one is back for 2024, though not dated, and added in 2023 by snaotheus. Quite modest aroma, but honey and lime in the nose. Malty body with distinct sweetness and plenty of spritz. Warm grain and sweet melon flavors. Moderate bitter aftertaste with a catch in the back of the throat. Maybe the sharpness of the Centennial hop aromatic and bittering acids. Overall this is quite a fragrant and flavorful hoppy brew. Purchased at Bridge and Tunnel Bottleshop in Astoria.

I regularly see stuff like your first pic (Hi Structures!). The Haze Bois seem uncomfortable with the actual appearance, and make pics that look like your 2nd pic, because, heaven forbid, folks decide for themselves.

Filters bro. Filters are on all modern pocket computaters, and they get used.

Oh I thought you meant the beer was filtered. I know nothing about phone/camera filters (never really understood the point—I’m old) but I suppose you’re right.

Calling all Breakside FH experts. Two different colored FH cans showed up at my local beer store. I tried reading the bottom of the can like in this pic, but in both cases it almost looked like the ink was smudged or double printed. Not clear like the example below.

Can someone outline the FH offerings by the color of the label for me? Is it possible to include the FH, as well? I am thinking I may want to make the trip back. And I thank you kindly.

Love the NB glass. The current globe is my go-to, but the collector in me covets out of print previous versions.

If you happen to be near Shoreline (WA), stop by Town and Country (Central Market). Lots of fresh hops on the floor and more (and some different FH beers) on the cold shelves. Tons of Green Rush, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Starting the day at Ruse where they have... count em.... 9 different fh beers on tap. Starting with their fh pils, city of echoes fh pale ale, papyrus iris fh hazy, and silent symphony wcipa. The pils is terrific, and the pale ale is no slouch. The hazy is really the only dud in the bunch and it's not terrible. Just doesn't have much fh character.

I'll be curious to see how much I like the next 5. 4 of them are hazies.

Haven't been here in a while. The taproom is very popular today.

Have now moved on to the final 5. High on fire fh hazy, star senders fh hazy, alien plant farm fh hazy, spirit receiver fh hazy, and collective questions fh wcipa. High on fire is pretty decent, but isn't something I'm in love with. Star senders is an intriguing blend of Citra and Strata. I'm liking it better than the high on fire, but it's not a keeper. Alien plant farm is decent, but is lacking in fh character. Spirit receiver is the best hazy on my tray, but again, there's not a huge amount of fh character. Collective questions wcipa is fantastic. Dank, resiny, onion-y, but with considerable fh character. Made with 100% mosaic hops. It blows the hazies on my tray completely out of the water.

So I am a big boy and was able to find my own answers through multiple google searches.

MCWAS had Breakside’s IPA with Mosiac and fresh Wanderlust (with Cascade. Was hoping it was the double. Anyway I went with Wanderlust and another Single Hill offering. I sure haven’t been disappointed with any Single Hill fresh hop this year.

I do have a slight problem now. Too many fresh hops in the fridge.

Solution? Have a buddy come over.

I don't see a problem and don't understand why you need a buddy. Please explain.

Someone (in this thread, I believe) said this beer is good—Stoup FH Fiend Italian Pils with Citra. Just picked up one can this morning (see earlier post for where). Anyway, that person was right. Preliminary review below. Cheers NWBA!

16oz can (packaging date hard to read, but looks like 9/17/2024) into a tulip. Pours a pale golden color with a bright white head—looks enticing.

Aroma is a big burst of citrus and melon—wow, this is different. Some floral and grassy notes too. Very nice.

Taste starts out with grainy/biscuity Pilsner malt but then the hops hit you. Resinous and bitter with tons of alpha acids. Some lemon and ripe melon, grapefruit zest. Great showcase for the Citra.

    Mouthfeel balanced, medium bodied, drinkable.

Overall this is one of the best, most unique fresh hop beers I’ve had this season, not that I’ve had that many.

Same problem but no buddy (most of my friends don’t like hoppy beers). That’s OK, I’ll muddle through on my own.

Living Haus is doing great work this year. FH Harris with Amarillo is terrific, amazing aroma and great lingering hop finish. Cole (centennial) was an early season highlight, and Jeanne (chinook) wasn't quite in the same league but very tasty in its own right. Still have a can of Dino (citra) awaiting...

I revealed my predicament from the Bend trip in hope others might avoid the pitfall. It appears you guys did not heed the warning.

Update: I have nearly finished the fresh hop beers from that trip, but like a fool I bought more and still have displaced (unrefrigerated) hoppy beer in the house. Probably can’t criticize your houses too much when I’m not keeping my own in order.
