Don't confuse this with the Citra IPA of the same name. This one is the Italian Pilsner. Even though it tastes like an IPA.
Slightly hazed pale golden brew with plenty of foam in the knobby goblet. Dry and tangy with expansive aromatics to start. Flavors of some fruit notes but mostly resins, pine, and grapefruit peel. Light body and sharp finish. This is marred by the very bitter aftertaste and the fading aromatics. Still, it's worth a gulp of resiny hops. From the 16 oz can purchased at the Mount Vernon Co-op. Can stamped FH CITRA SAUVE & SON 09/17/24.

Canned on 9/17/24; consumed on 10/7/24
Pours a slightly foggy, lemon-gold body topped with a finger and a half of eggshell-white foam; good head retention leaves a slight layer of cap, large, sudsy collar, and a haphazard array of soapy lacing spread across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of crackery malt meld into a piney underscore, trending mossy as notes of freshly cut grapefruit burst through against quaint minerality and essence of orange peel.
Taste brings grapefruit and orange zest to the forefront, with water cracker interludes past the mid-palate into mossiness and pine undertones lingering through the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a lighter body sporting moderate-full carbonation, levying a gentle spritz into rounded, airy creaminess, leaving modest bittering progressing through the finish.
A bright, citrusy coating informs the earthier aspects of the fresh-hopping, successfully amplifying an already ammenably composed pilsner.

16oz can (packaging date hard to read, but looks like 9/17/2024) into a tulip. Pours a pale golden color with a bright white head—looks enticing.
Aroma is a big burst of citrus and melon—wow, this is different. Some floral and grassy notes too. Very nice.
Taste starts out with grainy/biscuity Pilsner malt but then the hops hit you. Resinous and bitter with tons of alpha acids. Some lemon and ripe melon, grapefruit zest. Great showcase for the Citra.
Mouthfeel balanced, medium bodied, drinkable.
Overall this is one of the best, most unique fresh hop beers I’ve had this season, not that I’ve had that many.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. I think it's dated 09/18/24.
Pours clear light yellow with about a finger and a half of head, lots of active carbonation, moderate retention. Smell is bright cut grass and citrus zest, a little earthy funk.
Taste is real nice. Oh, that's real nice. Creamy orange zest and resin bitter af. A bit of bread and honey sweetness, the yeast isn't lost but it almost is, the fresh hops just come through beautifully.
Mouthfeel is light, clean, crisp. Overall, this is excellent.
