I'm coming out that way for a ball game next weekend, and I'm looking for your favorite places to find some good local beer while I'm there for a few days. I can't wait to get back to Elliott Bay, but other than that place I know nothing about the Seattle scene. We're staying near the Pike Place area, but will have transportation if there's anything worth the drive. Lay it on me. Cheers!

I may see you if you're at the Red Sox game on Saturday evening. Plenty of good local beer's available at the ballpark. Oh, and it's Seattle Beer Week, so check out this thread too.
Well, OP knew enough to know that we don't really do apostrophe s up here very good so he cant be that bad (Ivar and Dick being the big exceptions). Anyone know where the nearest Bartell is? Enough has been written about Seattle and it's various neighborhoods and offerings so I'll focus on pregame/postgame. Elysian is right there but we don't like them anymore and Pyramid is right there and they haven't been exciting since they moved to Berkeley so........hmmm. I am going to assume you'll walk to the game. Me, personally, I like Contour on 1st for my pre game warmup. Nostaligic Oly in cans chased by lamb sliders, but you aren't looking for nostalgia here. Fado is right next door where you can find your Guinness. If you are looikng for something Seattle-y I would recommend Collins Pub on 2nd. When you get to the game, I believe tucked away somewhere is a beer garden with an awesome selection but I haven't been to a game this year (or many years mind you) so someone else will have to chime in. If you are a seasonal type of beer drinker, we do Spring kind of late so those offering are still bright at this time. However, you start seeing pumpkin beers here in July. Weird. Postgame, uh....everything above but do it backwards. I have not been to Yard House and cannot verify it's authenticity, tap selection, or how often they clean their lines. I did hear from a friend of a friend who knew someone who may of said that it gets noisy there. And sometimes they get Boneyard.
I second this. Usually, I am coming from the other direction and don't want to stumble inadvertently into the path of a carload of late arriving fans but the times I have gone there, I have been impressed.
My bar of choice pre and post game is Collins Pub, 4th and James. And, nothing personal, but EFFF the Red Sux! The Evil Empire Jr. Other than that, enjoy your visit.
Update: Got back this morning and had a great time in your city. Rather than look for bars, we decided to do a brewery crawl on Saturday, and scored big time in Ballard. We hit Stoup, Reuben's, Lucky Envelope, Populuxe, Hale's (SuperGoose came home with me), and then Elliott Bay and Pike back in the city. All excellent.
