Looking for some info after doing some research on a few spots in the Sacramento area. I won't be in Sacramento too long - flying in this Thursday afternoon, driving to Tahoe Friday morning, flying out Sunday evening - but want to get a sense of what I'll be able to pull off.

Here are some of the spots I plan to check out, and a few questions accompanying:
    1) Moksa: looking to do a quick drop in and grab some beers to go on Thursday. Are what's available in crowlers my only option? I realize their specialty is pastry stouts, so is it even worth getting the IPAs that are available in crowlers? Especially in light of the next couple of places?

    2) Moonraker: I see they tend to release cans pretty regularly. Also looking to do a quick drop in. Likely that I'll be able to pick up some cans to go? If not are crowlers available? I didn't see availability for crowler fills or cans on their site or IG page.

    3) Fieldwork: this will be a must-stop, and looks like cans and crowler/growler fills are available (to include lucking out with Powerbatch 5000 being released. No info needed on this one.

    4) Urban Roots: is this worth a stop or are we better off just going to Capital Hop Shop? Anywhere else that I should visit in the downtown area over these?

    5) Mraz: I remember some enjoyable beers at Huna Day from them a few years back. Is it worth a visit on a regular old day? Figured we could pop in on the drive out to Tahoe on Friday when they open.

    6) Any good spots out in South Lake Tahoe that are worthwhile? I admittedly haven't looked much into that area.

I know I'm asking for a lot of specific info, but I couldn't find it elsewhere. Just want to make the most of our limited time in the area. Thanks.

Just based on my own recent trip up there, Moksa had some cans available to go and may still have some from their last release. Final Gravity in Roseville had a ton of different cans from breweries you mentioned as well as bottles.

Urbon Roots is releasing some Chocolate Mustache Stouts on Saturday in bottles, worth checking out.

We have a couple of short threads on the front page of the Pacific Forum for all your info. You can get the info there quick.

    SACRAMENTO Area & Releases: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/sacramento-area-releases-2019.601136/page-4

    Moksa: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/moksa-brewing-2019.601713/page-4

    Fieldwork: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/fieldwork-2019.601537/page-7

    But quick answers.....

    1. probably not for IPAs
    2. Yes, they will have a lot of cans from the last release. Also several bottle shops now get MR cans
    3. Fieldwork Cans will be online buying. They have crowlers of most beers though if you miss the online buy.
    4. Yes. Urban Roots is fucking great. FYI it will be crowded for 1 year anniversary on Sat.
    5. Yes if you like SOURS
    6. In SLT...not much. Couple local breweries....

It was either here or the other beer forum, but I was pointed in the direction of New Glory before a recent work trip and wasn't disappointed. I debated staying their the entire time instead of venturing to Fieldwork and Capitol Hop. Next time I probably will.

Thanks, I really appreciate the info. I swear I browsed all of those threads before posting the original questions. Just wanted to confirm some of the things I was picking up on.

One more important thing. Moksa(Rocklin) and Moonraker(Auburn) are off Highway 80 East on the way to RENO. You will most likely be taking Highway 50 East to Tahoe. Those would be a bit of a detour. Moonraker CANS now at several Sac bottle shops. Capt Tap, La Riv, Pacific Market.

New Glory Brewery/Taproom is off Highway 50 on your way out of Sac to Tahoe. As JWacky mentioned, very good. Several togo can and crowler options. https://www.newglorybeer.com/home/home-content/

    3. Unless you're gonna pre-order tomorrow at noon, you might want to delay your Fri drive out to hit up Fieldwork's opening. The main thing that matters this week really is DDH Pulp:

How was the Sacramento trip? Always interested in what outside reviews think.

Did you hit Fieldwork or Urban Roots?

We had a good time with our 16ish hours in Sacramento. Swung through Moksa for a few tasters, then hit Fieldwork. Only had time for one between Fieldwork or Urban Roots, and we're more partial to the hazy IPAs. It looked like UR's menu had a lot of lagers, which I'm only into if in the right mood. We passed on mraz on the drive out as we were getting eager to just get out to the bachelor party in Tahoe. Would definitely like to come back for another round and hit some more places.

We missed on on the cans of Fieldwork because I didn't realize how insane their online sale would be. Were able to get some crowlers to go. The rainbow parfait and DDH pulp were a huge hit. Also grabbed a whole bunch of moonraker cans from Pacific market.

Thanks again for all of the recs!
