    Looking to get my best man and groomsmen some wedding-themed beers for a gift and was wondering if anyone knew of anything that may work. For example, Lovebird from Jackalope Brewing Company. Any help is appreciated - thanks all!

    Barrier made a beer called Burning Hot Love about 4-5 years ago or so. They may still have bottles cellaring. I’d send them a message.

    Btw, it was not a great beer. Super spicy and acid reflux inducing.

    Burlington has a seasonal stout called Heart Swap, but it's not available until February, which might be too late for you.

    A Canadian beer, but has been available in the Northeast previously (my review was from back in 2010, not sure about recent importing). If you've seen/drank Peche Mortel, it's the same brewery

    You can also pick up some La Fin du Monde if you are feeling like a jokester.

    Couple of Tree House stouts might work:

    - All That Is & All That Ever Will Be
    - Eternity

    Man, I wish I’d thought of Hopoius. Also: what should I read from Joan Didion?

    Also:

    - I Have Promises to Keep
    - Beneficiaries of Chance

    Although, unlike the two ah_craft suggested, neither of my suggestions are currently available. So, completely unhelpful, but I figured I'd play the theme game, anyway.

    Speaking of unhelpful, Orono Brewing in Maine has a Love is Love Imperial Stout: "Join us in celebrating love with this luxurious Imperial Stout brewed with raspberry, chocolate, and lactose."

    Nothing says "love" like a healthy case of next-day lactose stout shits.

    I'd say it depends on what you like. "Goodbye to All This" is probably her most famous essay, but my favorite is "Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream." I'd read both. For books, I have a slight preference for Slouching... over The White Album.

    Obviously, Year of Magical Thinking and Blue Nights are sad and good, but they're more diaristic than narratives or even memoirs. I'd read the essay stuff before these (but I would read them).

    @ColdOne

    Interesting Joan Didion fact: she wrote the screenplay for the gritty 1971 movie "Panic in Needle Park," about heroin addicts in Manhattan, a gut-wrenching view of desperate addiction in the late-60's big city slums. The lead role in the movie was originally meant to go to Doors frontman Jim Morrison, but after a botched interview between Morrison and Didion, the role passed to newcomer Al Pacino, whose powerful performance helped land him the lead in The Godfather. Worth watching if you're a fan of Joan Didion's work.
