Hotter by a few degrees than Death Valley today in Philadelphia. Hoping to enjoy a few here but the middle aged bartender is so loud talking to some dude at the other end of the bar I had to put my earplugs on. Still very loud.

    Human Robot Czech 10

Brewery Notes: $7 pint draft pour into a mug, 4.2% ABV. Tank pour from Czech Lukr side pull faucet.

Beautiful bready malt balanced with a kiss of floral spice. Decoction mashed with floor malted Czech Pils malt. Hopped exclusively with Bohemia’s gift to the world, Saab hops.

Appearance: Golden tan base, light carbonation, creamy white head leaves generous thin spotty dot matrix lacing and razor thin cover over the base. 4.5

    Aroma:
Fresh baked dinner rolls out of the oven. Grassy floral notes, light mineral well water. Medium strength, higher enjoyment. 4.0

    Taste:
Consistent with aroma, sweet warm fresh bread from the oven with added butter dab. Lightly salted, nice floral backing. 4.25

    Mouthfeel:
Light easy drinking consistent with ABV, gentle carbonation adds a touch more depth to the creamy medium body. Sweet overall, butter notes will turn off some but works for me. 4.5

    Overall:
Perfect start to the day and beer pairing for mid Summer temps in Philadelphia. 4.25

Time to sit back and unwind…

That is an awesome beer, really hard to find in Chicago fresh (see the hazy version a lot more often, Meh).

    Second pour here.

    Hallertau Pils German Style Pilsner

    Brewery notes:
    $7 16 oz tank pour, 5.2% ABV.

Hallertau Pils is brewed as an ode to the industrial German pilsners of the 50’s to the late 70’s when technology allowed more efficient processes, but the liquid was still brewed “the old way”. We use a double decoction mash, 100% German Pilsner malt, 100% German Hallertau Mittlefru hops.

Appearance: Took a few minutes to pour Poured into a long tube glass. Clear tan golden base, slow steady carbonation. Creamy full light fluffy head, lingers a long time, really nice pour. 4.75

    Aroma:
Light floral breast aroma. Had to try a bit to glean, enjoy what I’m gathering. 3.75

    Taste:
Taste a bit bolder, nice light and easy Pils notes salt cracker. Somewhat like a typical grocery store Euro Pils with a light touch. 3.75

    Mouthfeel:
Gentle to faintly felt carbonation, medium hard water body drinks light and easy, a touch salty, soft light breadstick finish. 3.5

    Overall:
This is a good offering, sort of down the middle with white glove soft touch. Enjoying. 3.75

    Revisited April 29th, 2024

Pours out a dark yet clear deep brown / black hue; opaque in the glass; very dense and creamy head, tan colored, long-lasting; spidery fingers of lacing inside the glass. Amazing dark roasted grain scent infused with notes of figs and raisins; rich cocoa scent; chocolate; a trace of whiskey in the background. Intensely rich flavors of milk chocolate and cacao nibs; charred grain bitterness; moderate presence of whiskey. Dense, chewy body; bold, boozy undercurrent; sticky.

With a higher ABV, this barrel aged imperial stout actually looks, smells, tastes, and feels better than the version I had five years ago. Incredibly well-balanced and complex; a real joy to sip.

    4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0; BA weighted overall score: 4.0; rDev: +3.9%

Jet black body; one-finger thick head, dense and creamy, light tan in color. Very nice sweet, roasted grain aroma; some cocoa and a suggestion of coffee; baker's chocolate. Sweet malt base, dark fudge with a boozy edge; cocoa. Heavy body; slick and oily; alcohol heat tempering the sugary heft.

This beer delivers some rich and tasty goods. I'm guessing the barrel-aging is with some type of bourbon whiskey (the bottle label doesn't specify and there is nothing on the brewery's web site). Deep and balanced with fair complexity.

    ABV: 10.1%

    Good evening gentlemen,
as soon as I got home from work, this bomb was waiting for me, recently bought in a trusted beershop.
Quite rare to find and what's more with this packaging date, which for us since these parts are also considered rather fresh considering everything...
In that occasion, I also drank two glasses of the wonderful FOREVER EVER (on tap €8 44 cl) and I would have liked to drink more...
Other Half Brewing Co. (Brooklyn, New York, USA) - THANK YOU FOR JUICING ! - Double Dry Hopped Imperial IPA (8%)
16 Oz can (one pint) paid around €12 (with discount on the total).
Packaging date printed on the bottom: "12/02/2024".
It's an 8% Double Dry Hopped Imperial India Pale Ale.
Hops used indicated on the label: Citra, Cryo Citra, Citra Incognito, Nelson Sauvin and Sabro.
Freshly uncorked, intense aromas of mango, papaya and passion fruit, with a lighter hint of pineapple.
Poured is a pale yellow, completely opaque: it looks like pear juice. Minimal foam.
Not very inviting appearance, compensated by a magnetic scent.
In the mouth, a beer with a medium/full body (well masked, I would have expected a "heavier" body) with semi-absent, if not very light, carbonation in the background.
In the mouth, the tropical and citric flavours alternate, invading the palate and leaving a fruit salad taste that remains well after drinking.
The fruity flavour is EXTREMELY juicy and I have to say it reminded me of another beer that used Citra Incognito, where I also found this almost "caramel-like" citrus flavour, like "Fruit Joy" candy.
It almost creates a sticky film on the lips...
    Explosive, fragrant and extremely fruity.
The finish is not bitter, but dampened by the silkiness of the yeasts probably used.
With every sip a truly explosive and invasive fruit bouquet explodes, it can be appreciated or considered excessive, but it can certainly NEVER go unnoticed.
I understand that it is a modern product, but some examples may still be able to amaze and make you re-evaluate an entire style for a moment: it's not the "Hazy IPAs" of this caliber that perhaps have tired me a little (after having abused them).
