Today I tried a Schell's doppelbock that my dad claims was from the 1980s. It held up well considering the age of it. I'm wondering what the oldest beer you've tried is. Also, it had a groovy purple and teal label!

Other than a couple bottles of Ballantine Burton I've opened over the last few years (all 1960s bottles of the 1946 brewing) the other oldest bottles I've enjoyed were a 2 1985-ish bottles of Samichlaus (one light, one dark) some late 1980s bottles of Thomas Hardy Ale, a circa 1989 bottle of Grimbergen Trippel, and a 1991 bottle of Gale's Prize Old Ale.
All were very drinkable with no major flaws, and a couple of them were (all things considered) nothing short of amazing.

Very nice, any pics? For the oldest brew tried, there is a fairly active thread for that in this same subforum, check it out:
