    Hi All,

Got married last month and am looking to cellar a few beers for future anniversaries. Are there any wedding or anniversary themed beers that are relatively limited release or dated with the year 2017 that anyone knows of? For example, in Bourbon world Old Forester puts out a limited release "Birthday Bourbon" every year with the year dated on the bottle that is cool to buy and save on kids birth years. Any ideas welcome. Thanks!

First of all congratulations. I don't have a specific recommendation for a 2017 vintage beer for aging but if I were to do that expecting them to last 20 years I would invest in some vintage wine as a backup.

I don't know of any beers that have been successfully aged long term (10+ years) without a significant drop in quality. I've read on here of people having beers that they have aged 5 or so years and didn't have any issues. Of course, if you put away a high ABV Quadrupel or something similar, you may have better luck.

Like @Squire123 said, getting some wine or even vintage wine as he suggested, you may have better luck. May I add to that sentiment and say that perhaps a spirit such as a high quality Whisk(e)y or Rum would be a much safer bet.

Edit: Keep in mind that keeping storage conditions stable is absolutely critical when aging anything such as Wine, Whisk(e)y, rum, beer, etc. Unless you have an area that stays at the relatively same temperature, humidity, and so on, you may or may not have less than desirable results.

congrats! I don't know of any beers like that, but a lot of breweries do anniversary beers to celebrate their anniversary as a brewery. May be cool to buy several of these anniversary beers from different breweries and you can open them on YOUR anniversary in later years.

Since you will be living a Utopia, how about a bottle of the same? Share an ounce a year for 24 years. It's on the shelf right now. What? $200 is too much for beer? Balderdash, poppycock, and horse feathers, I say. Seriously, may God Bless your journey.

    Congrats, man!

Mother of all Storms seems to be pretty darn decadent when aged. Only had it once, but it was about 4 years old when I had it, and it is without a doubt the most delightful aged beer I've ever consumed.

It's not an anniversary themed beer, but J.W. Lees Harvest Ale is notorious for aging well for a very long time. Each vintage is dated and a little bit different. You won't find 2017 in the U.S. until 2019.

New holland brewing has a 20th anniversary ale. It's a strongale at 20% abv aged in rum barrels. 20 bucks a bomber. It's been out for a month, but just dropped in my area. I doubt it will fly off the shelves too quick as it doesn'thave a reputation as a whale yet.

For anniversary beers that hold up, I would shoot for Saule from the Bruery. 2017 release, and it should last a long time!
