Founders. I gotta say, once I had that Backwoods Bastard I was taken aback. This was without a doubt the most disgusting beer I've ever had with my BBQ corn nuts. But then I look back at all the quality beers Founders has produced. I gotta say, Bravo Founders. I'm glad I didn't boycott you based on one bad beer or batch.

Basically, what this Texan is ponderin, does anyone else have a love-hate relationship with a brewery and why?

Actually I love Backwoods bastard so much. But for me its also Founders. I think most of their dark beers are great. But their IPA's and lighter beers are just decent at best.

Ha I'd also say founders because I love backwoods and their imperial stout, but I can't even drink blushing monk or rubaeus.

Did I get a bad batch? Is Backwoods supposed to take like watery and carbonated Whiskey?

I don't think it's watery. It's kind of creamy. It is aged in Oak barrels so you are gonna get that whiskey /scotch flavor. I love it.

It destroyed my stomach, no joke. I always eat BBQ corn nuts so it couldnt have been them, although I did have 2 bags to try to quench the Backwoods.

Down w/Backwoods Bastard, down w/Founders, more so their dark styles.
Love-hate Rogue, make all the crazy you want just keep the standards coming.
Down w/ranch Corn Nuts, I wouldn't be washing down any flavor Corn Nuts w/Backwoods, that's what Shiner & Lone Star are for

For me it would be Shorts.
I have had a couple of their beers that I really enjoyed, but the majority of the beer they brew is just hopped all to hell, regardless of the style.

Founders scours the range from excellent (imperial stout, breakfast stout) to mediocre (KBS, Centennial, All Day) to piss poor (Backwoods Bastard)

Hard to imagine anybody thinking backwoods bastards is disgusting unless they don't like bourbon, oaky, caramel like flavors. However, each to their own. Maybe it was the corn nuts. I don't think that's a very good pairing. When I think corn nuts I think something more crip and refreshing to combat the spices and saltyness.

You seem to be quite the corn nuts fan. You even have them in your avatar.
