The thing about beer if it can be done, its already been done at least once, by some one....just to prove others wrong.
you can make a sour hoppy, lol. So as one person has posted that brett being in ipa is NOTHING new. in fact I bet its 200 plus years old now. Sounds sour to me.:grinning::grimacing::rolling_eyes:

Right Proper in DC did a heavily dry hopped Berlinerweiss, Kick.Kick.Snare. Not a sour IPA per se, but an amazing hoppy sour beer.

So glad someone mentioned Green Bench. I clicked on this thread because as soon as I saw the title, I thought of Green Bench Surrealist.

There are a number of "sours" that get dry hopped. Most notable Berliners and Goses. DeGarde has done a few different dry hopped versions of their Gose (called Hose).

Also, I know Wayne Wambles at CCB has been working on a Sour Session IPA. And the privilege of smelling and tasting an unfinished sample. It was amazing...overwhelming fruit (guava) aroma achieved solely with hops. Looking forward to take getting tapped in the near future

I think with 50 comments, out of over 800 views, a more likely statement would be, some people would find them appealing.
Personally, bitter is enough of a turn off for me. I certainly would not wish to ad sour to an already unappealing taste.
That's just my opinion, out of the 800 plus views.

Yeah so did i. How they deconstructed it through out the series was a real educational moment for me.

Wicked Weed's Amorous is one of the few ways I can enjoy an IPA... No really. It takes a brett or sour IPA to get me enjoy an IPA... Go figure.

I really don't see the point of your post. I said from the replies here you can tell that sour IPAs can be a tasty beer. In other words...some people find them appealing. So we agree.

Also, you pointing out the view to response ratio has absolutely nothing to do with anything. If I was arguing that most people like sour IPAs (which I'm not), then I would point out the majority of posts in the thread agree that there are some nice dry hopped sours. That's a bit stronger than out of 800 views, there are 50 replies. Especially considering you don't know if the 750 other views weren't duplicates (I know I've clicked on this thread at least 10 times), or that the majority of those viewers who did not reply also like sour IPAs.

And that was an argument that I'm not even having. ??

Worth mentioning - most of the dry-hopped sours are NOT bitter. If concerns about bitterness are holding you back - have no fears. The hop notes tend to be more floral, tropical, and a little earthy, but there's minimal bitterness.
