I would suggest the following:

Variant Brewing - Great Stouts & IPAs
Halfway Crooks - Good lagers.
New Realm - Brewmaster Mitch Steele was at Stone Brewing from 2006-2016, literally wrote the book on brewing IPAs. Really good Dunkel here too.
Bold Monk - Belgian styles

There are a number of good breweries in and around Atlanta. I hope you enjoy your trip!

I never hear anybody talking about Torched Hop, but when I was there 2 years ago I went a couple of times because it was in walking distance to my AirBnb. I really enjoyed everything I had. Food was good also.

I'm a fan, especially if I'm in the area. It isn't one of the absolute best places, but the beer is solid and the food is good. When Music Midtown shut down for a couple hours one year because of hard rain, we were pretty happy to walk over to Torched Hop and try it out until the festival started back up. Been a few times since then and have always been perfectly happy with it.

We always hit this place when in ATL for great food and beer

 

Wrecking Bar is walking distance from Porter Beer Bar which has the best tap list in the city. And also good food.

 

I spent a number of evenings at the two when I used to work in Atlanta during the week. The main question was whether I started at ate at Porter and then hit Wrecking Bar or vice versa. Both have really solid food.

Only other question was whether I hit Orpheus or Monday Night for the evening instead. Everything else was a bit far from downtown without a car generally (though did hit a handful of other places).
