I'm suprised there's no thread about this, its their barrel aged coffee stout. Its out there, I picked one up yesterday but haven't tried it yet. Anyone else?

I had a snifter at the Avery taproom when I was in Boulder last spring. It was one of my favorite beers of the trip. If you like coffee, you will love that stout.

I was able to attend to release party on Sunday, and a worker said that there will be a very wide distro of this beer...

I still brought some back to CA just in case he was exaggerating.

Delicious beer if you are a BA and coffee fan.

Wait, you picked one up in VA? It's on the east coast already!? I need to find this NOW!

I had the pleasure of having it on draft several months ago and it was phenomenal.

I got it at the Total Wine in Chantilly ($14). That's obviously a long drive if you're in DC but it is in the area and I don't think these usually sell too fast because of the price.

I'm impressed that it's already on the East coast. They were shipping it out on Sunday morning during the release.
Anyway, if you've had it before, this version is slightly different as it's barrel aged and using a slightly different coffee blend. It's just as good as previous versions, just a little different.

this is the beer that used to be Meph Addict. I had it on draft at an Avery tap takeover back in 2011. My only complaint was that it seemed much thinner than the regular Mephistopheles, which I think is an amazing Imperial Stout.

It is not. This is barrel aged.

Too sugary sweet like all of Avery's stouts to me.

Well that's confusing. Because it looks like the BA profile for the "regular" Tweak was updated to say it was barrel-aged:
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/30/56199/
    vs.
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/30/145946/

Well at least for the base beer, back in this post from a couple a years ago someone from Avery did confirm that Tweak was the same as Meph Addict:

I've had the regular Tweak on tap several times and it's one of the most dangerously drinkable 16% ABV beers you could ever imagine. I've been pumped about the bourbon barrel version since I first heard of its existence.

I totally understand  No idea why the description was changed, it really is a different beer now. Who knows if they even make the original tweak anymore. The original is the one on the Top 250 list.
